"Iron Man 3" Post-Credits Scene Revealed?

"Iron Man 3" Post-Credits Scene Revealed?Submit Comment
The latest "Iron Man 3" poster confirmed the rumor that the movie will feature many other Iron Man suits, some that Tony Stark will control remotely. Now, we have some details regarding one of those suits, that will likely show up in the post-credits scene.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

According to io9, Tony Stark gets to work building a space suit (pictured) after his experience in "The Avengers." Using new technology, Iron Man can now travel far into space, something he does to track down the source of a coded SOS message he receives.

The general idea is that events in "Guardians of the Galaxy" will take place before the events of "Iron Man 3." Star-Lord and his team (from "Guardians of the Galaxy") take on Thanos and don't succeed. As a result, Star-Lord sends out a warning that Thanos is heading for Earth. In the "Iron Man 3" post-credits scene we'll see Iron Man receive that warning and fly off into space to help. "The Avengers 2" will pick-up immediately after.

That would mean the next Thor movie and the Captain America movie are also kind of before or while Iron Man 3/Guardians of the Galaxy is happening. Ok. Good to know.

Don't really care, "Avengers" was a bit of a let down for me.

Sounds plausible but Marvel needs to pass the f*cking end credit scenes. Just put that sh*t at the end of the movie.

The cast and direction of GOTG sounds just AWFUL. I have no faith in that f*cking heap of sh*t. James Gunn couldn't direct a film if his disturbing imagery counted on it.

Oh, Iron Man 3.
Sounds pretty interesting, too bad Guardians of the Galaxy will be a giant flop.

Ya im fine with DURING the credits like after the main credits i don't care who did the lighting AND i hope GOTG won't flop but who knows

Sounds interesting. I do like how Marvel is taking all these "small" films and basically building a huge story out of them the way they do with the comic books. Pretty smart and compelling strategy.

@Mink, yep. It seems not only is Marvel making the look and feel of their movies like comic books, but the side stories and interlacing movies as well. Very smart on their part by increasing the likelyhood that more folks will see these films they would otherwise have little interest in. I mean how many folks would have seen a standalone GOTG film? But you tie it to th Avengers storyline and you get an audience. Maybe not a box office smashing one, but certainly more than just a standalone would've brought in.

@Kate: some times. lol.

@Bunny: you're a smart little rabbit, you know that?
Bunny X writes:

@mink you effing sweettalker!

Those guys at Marvel are genius if you think about it. They've created an almost Apple like buzz with their movies in that the audience feels compelled to watch all the various movies as to not feel left out or that they "missed" something. I mean take the after credits scene. It's beyond played out but yet more and more folks are staying the whole time to see them. What other films have about 75% of their audience sitting through the entire credits? And for what? So they can tie in what they think will be the next film? We already know what the timeline will be. But yet we sit for those scenes like drones sitting in line at Apple for an iPhone slightly different from the one they just bought 12 months ago. And that "left out" angle is going to get 2nd tier films like AntMan, Dr. Strange, or GOTG an audience. Folks are not going to want to feel "left out" of the craze and will want to be able to tie pieces of other films together in the Avengers 2 spectacle.
At the end of it all, it'd be interesting to see what their overall profit margin is. Taking into account the total spend for all Marvel films vs the box office / DVD / Cable & TV intake.
