Matthew Vaughn to Produce "Fantastic Four" Reboot

Matthew Vaughn to Produce "Fantastic Four" RebootSubmit Comment
Mark Millar, the creator of such comic books as "Wanted" and "Kick-Ass," was recently hired by 20th Century Fox to be a consultant on the studio's superhero films. And now comes word that Millar was able to convince "Kick-Ass" director Matthew Vaughn to produce Fox's upcoming "Fantastic Four" reboot.

"Just off the phone with Fox and some excellent news -- Matthew Vaughn is producing Josh Trank's 'Fantastic Four' reboot," Millar wrote on Twitter. Trank, who last directed "Chronicle," will begin shooting "Fantastic Four" soon, since the film is set to hit theaters during Spring of 2015.

There's no word what the story will be about, but Galactus will likely be involved, since Fox refused to give up the character to Marvel when it was given the choice to keep Daredevil instead. It's also likely that Fox will use Marvel's model of giving characters their own films before bringing them together for "The Avengers"-style movie.

Sounds good. Chronicle was a pretty good f*cking flick, and Vaughn did alright with First Class.

Still, this is another property I'd love to see returned to Marvel for proper adaptation as FOX f*cks things up at least 50% of the time.

I enjoyed CHRONICLE. It surprised the hell out of me. Definitely the best 'found footage' flick out there. And it gave me goosebumps at the possibility of how f*cking awesome an AKIRA movie would be.

Chronicle was disappointing, not much happened till the last 30 minutes and the story was not convincing at all - i mean they all started menstruating through their nose and they didn't seem worried about it at all,any normal person would freak out and go to the nearest hospital.

First class, however, was good,at least the first and last act,the middle was meh.

I think this reboot's going to be alright. Can't be any worse than the first two which were, are some of the worst comic book movies I've ever seen. Saw both and can remember neither.

This is going to be equally as sh*tty as the previous flicks but in a different way. The previous two were bullsh*t, but this one will be horsesh*t. Same difference.

That makes two FOX movies Vaughn is producing, X-Men: Days of Future Past and this. Vaughn only directed X-Men: First Class while Singer produced. X-Men: Days of Future Past Vaughn and Singer changed places. Will be interesting if the team Trank/Vaughn is as good as Singer/Vaughn. Singer/Vaughn are still the best directors/producers the franchise had over all these years.

@kate: "Magneto:Nazi Hunter with Fassbender, now that's a movie i would like to see..." - They cancelled the Magneto movie when preparing for X-Men: First Class. Parts of the the cancelled movie were used for FC. The reasons to give up the Origin Series are obvious... unless your the biggest fan of X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009).

This has the stenchMarc Webb movie...hit or miss, really.

Trank really doesn't have that much experience to pull this off. There's a big difference from CHRONICLE to the first family of Marvel...just saying.

Giving him the benefit of the doubt and am really hoping for Trank to bring out different representation and chemistry between the characters...

Trank seems so "Not Hollywood" that he is actually making me looking forward to it.
