What an oxymoron that is...a comedy starring Wilson and Vaughn!!!

Nothing with goofy nose and fat face is ever funny unless it's their ritualistic murder-suicide.

Anyone seen one truly good movie with either of these guys? Just one. Just one truly good movie. Name it. Not Shanghai Nights either. GOOD. A movie where Wilson doesn't sound like he's talking through a straw and laugh like a braying donkey, and one where Vaughn doesn't look like he's ready for his daily slopping or f*cking constipated. I haven't. Ever. Maybe I missed them. Maybe I missed their award winning films and just watched the trash. Maybe d*ck Rage has a good hair stylist too but I'll be f*cked if I can see it.

Swingers and Old School? Really? That's the best you can do? Two movies about a bunch of *ssholes drinking and partying? I said A GOOD MOVIE. Not filth and trash for invalid prurient minds. A GOOD MOVIE. Do I need to direct you to a dictionary for a definition of the words good and movie? Just because alcoholics and drug addicts like something doesn't make it good. Try again.

Even d*ck Rage had Adaptations and Raising Arizona. What have these two middle-aged fat frat boys ever made that was as good? Anything? I don't think so, so I'm still waiting for that elusive good movie.

Marley and Me! Ha I forgot that one. Yes that was a good movie, but we would all agree any movie with a cute loveable puppy that grows up to be a cute lovable dog that dies tragically is going to pull the old heart strings like Beethoven playing one of his best piano sonatas.
Monster writes:

A classic Danger-Lips? A classic? No, Great Expectations is a classic. A Movable Feast is a classic. Grapes of Wrath. A classic. A Wes Anderson film? sh*t people like you watch and then assume everyone else likes it and those that don't just don't count. That's not a classic. It's not a classic when most people haven't even heard of the film, and no, my friend, the three people you get do heroin with every Friday night don't count as "everyone".

Anyone who thinks Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are comedic gold should probably change in their food stamps for a hospital voucher. Chevy Chase? Comedic gold. Bill Murray? Comedic gold. Christopher Lloyd? Same. Young Jim Carrey? Ditto. These two fat ugly unfunny f*cks? Tragic sh*t.
Monster writes:
on February 13th, 2013 at 7:45:34 PM

Why do people always say "classic"? Why do they call every piece of sh*t film THEY like a "classic"? it isn't a classic if only 0.02% of the population vigorously like it. Cheapens the meaning of the word. I'm going to start calling Battlefield Earth a classic. See what people think. Hey, did you catch that classic flick Battlefield Earth the other day? It was on TMC or some sh*t. CLASSIC! People are even calling Plan Nine a classic now. Everything's a f*cking classic to someone which means nothing is classic at all, and that which is truly classic isn't even mentioned. Stupid.
romodanny3 writes:

Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are BOTH f*cking douche nozzles!!!
Monster writes:
on February 13th, 2013 at 7:50:42 PM

@pornfly: maybe I missed some of these classic films but everything I've ever seen with either of these *ssholes was sh*tty. Some of their flicks were barely f*cking watchable. Some of them are decent but certainly not classics by any stretch of the word, and only because of the material, because of the flick itself. Marley and Me was decent, but only because, not because of Wilson who could have been replaced with ANYONE and the film would have turned out okay. People are stupid. They think because some guy directed a sh*tty film he's a sh*tty director like Brett Ratner. Sure Ratner's a piece of sh*t but not because of some sh*t he didn't f*cking write. Wilson stars in some flick and it's decent and people start thinking Wilson is a GREAT f*ckING ACTOR, and he isn't. He's not even average and he's SURE AS f*ck not funny. Vince Vaughn? He's not even my radar or anyone elses. He was named a pretty boy thirty years ago before he bloated up and now he's way past his shelf life and nothing he's ever done has made me laugh. He's even worst than Ben f*cking Stiller.
Monster writes:
on February 13th, 2013 at 7:52:57 PM

And I'm not trashing Wes Anderson, who is a competent and skilled director, only Vaughn and Wilson as comedic foils. Try to understand that fact. Please.
Danger-Lips writes:

^ Lol you say you aren't mink but there is nobody else on this planet who holds their own opinion with a higher regard than you/he does. Nobody gives a sh*t what movies you like, you only like movies that perform well so when people disagree with you, you can just point to the numbers to back you up. If you truly have never enjoyed any movie either actor has ever been in (by enjoy I mean find even remotely funny), you can't really like movies that much. So either take a page out of Wilson's book and go try killing yourself or relax for a second. You ass picking, chronic masterbating, piece of sh*t
Danger-Lips writes:

Mink I don't think you have the right to define the word classic, unless your referring to the blow up doll your father passed down to you
Monster writes:
on February 13th, 2013 at 7:59:52 PM

So what you're saying is that if I don't like any of Vince Vaughn's or Owen Wilson's movies, I don't like movies at all? Is that what you're saying, Danger-Lips? Well I say if you don't like any of Ronald Reagan's movies, you're not a fan of movies either, so I guess we're at a stalemate and neither of us like movies at all, so what the f*ck are we doing on this movie news website arguing with each other? Hmmmm?
Monster writes:

Danger-Lips writes:

Monster writes:
on February 13th, 2013 at 8:06:24 PM

Well I'm not sure who exactly you think I am Danger-Lips, but I do like movies a lot, and as I said perhaps I haven't seen any of these two *sshole's GOOD movies, but the ones I have seen weren't better than average and that was in spite of the fact either of them could have been replaced with anyone without affecting the film's quality, and I did say that Anderson is a good director so as to take the sting out of my criticism as some of you seem to have joyous bromance with him. Again, I have no issue with the films, I just can't stand these two *ssholes. They're just not intrinsically funny.
Danger-Lips writes:

Monster writes:
on February 13th, 2013 at 8:22:04 PM

Well that's a hilariously idiotic comparison and if you asked anyone with an iota of film education how well Vaughn and Wilson compare to screen legends like Redford and Newman, they'd laugh you right out of the room, but then I keep reading about how people of a certain age bracket are more poorly educated than people of a similar age just twenty years ago, so I guess every bizarre moment has a lucid explanation.
Danger-Lips writes:
on February 13th, 2013 at 8:22:34 PM

Also, if you're expecting a movie that stars Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn to be a masterpiece then again, you've gotta be f*cked up. You've just gotta take things for what they are. When I see a movie come out with either one of them (old school, wedding crashers, starsky and hutch, any wes anderson movie with wilson) I know it's good for a few laughs so I go check it out. I don't think there is any denying that both actors are good at their comedic delivery... They're a couple of funny S.O.B.'s. Society has changed, people don't find the same things funny anymore. I'll be the first one to choose an old Bill Murray, Jim Carrey, or Chevy Chase movie over today's comedies, but they just won't make that kind of movie anymore (except maybe dumb and dumber 2, hopefully). Everything has to be rude now. It's actually refreshing to see these 2 back in a movie together because alot of the so-called up and coming comediens aren't cutting for me, like Jason Sudeikis. I hate that guy. But hey, I'm sure some people out there like that guy so whatever. Just lighten up or go suck a d*ck Mink
Monster writes:
on February 13th, 2013 at 8:23:36 PM

Well I wouldn't know anything about that, Blumpkin, as I'm not into gay sex, especially not with woodworking tools, unlike yourself apparently, but considering how much you and the other guy love to call me a "tool", I can understand your rather unnatural and perhaps lethal obsession with me.
blumpkin4 writes:
on February 13th, 2013 at 8:25:06 PM

mink relax it was a little joke. a joke i bet vaughn would have made himself. Plus you have got to be the first troll in history to use the word iota. "I otta" kick your ass for that one.
Monster writes:
on February 13th, 2013 at 8:25:42 PM

Well yes, Danger-Lips, I am taking things for what they are, instead of seeing them for what they aren't, and you apparently see Vaughn's and Wilson's films as comedic highlights from the last two decades, whereas I don't, so obviously you see things the way they aren't as opposed to me seeing them the way they are. Do you comprehend or do I need to lower the number of syllables?
blumpkin4 writes:
on February 13th, 2013 at 8:26:24 PM

in blumpkins defence, can we really know for certain that woodworking tools are male? It may not be that gay of a thing to do, having sex with them that is.
Monster writes:

Well again I'm not this mink fellow, but I don't think you'd be kicking my ass, "Blumkin", and any fellow who threatens physical violence over the internet is more than likely to receive it in the "real world".
Danger-Lips writes:

What do you consider to be good comedies of the past decade?
blumpkin4 writes:

again mink, the blumpkin was just trying to make an iota joke, although the blumpkin has seen your head shot and is fairly certain that he can kick your ass in real life!
Monster writes:

I just looked at a list of IMDbs best comedies from the last ten years, and they all suck. So, does Snatch count? Shaun of the Dead? British humor is dry and a little more subtle and intelligent, more than what we watch over on this side of the ocean.
Monster writes:
on February 13th, 2013 at 8:34:31 PM

Well again, "Blumpkin" you don't know me, even though you think you do, and even if you had seen my headshot, and I no doubt believe you at least have dreamed of a headshot from me, you still could never "kick my ass", although I'm more than willing to tell you where I live, in private, and pay your way to come down here and try it. Do you like Greyhound?
Danger-Lips writes:
on February 13th, 2013 at 8:36:05 PM

Don't get me wrong I am by no means saying that these 2 are my favourite comedic actors, but they make one hell of a funny movie. These two along with Ferrel, Rogan, Hill, Rudd, and I know I'm missing a few have to be some of the best comedians of this generation, and I'm sure decades from now there is going to be a a crazy f*ck like yourself saying that these guys were the only good comedians. Things change Mink. If you're not laughing you're crying I guess. You obviously don't like comedies anymore so you shouldn't really comment on them.
blumpkin4 writes:

ya that stuffs not bad, but a little fart or gay joke here and there still cracks me up. Best comedies in my opinion though are dumb and dumber, then the 2 ace venturas (second one is better) step bros was pretty damn funny too. You want some good canadian comedies check out the trailer park boys or drunk and on drugs happy funtime hour.

Oh I love comedies. I love witty intelligent clever humor. I love political satire. Topical and contextual jokes. Intelligent stuff. But fat old middle-aged men pissing and farting and telling jokes about their bodily functions really doesn't appeal to me. Maybe John Stewarts comedic is closer to what I like, because it's relevant, but off-topic banal banter form these two, just not funny. Maybe it's an American thing and maybe I should have been born in a smarter country. And I love classical physical humor, just not the repetitive raunch to which most modern comedy films aspire. And you're right, times change, but they also get worse and as Western invariably culture decays, things will only get worse from here so I don't expect to be a fan of too many upcoming comedic flicks.
