Today we have an international trailer for the found-footage thriller "Dyatlov Pass Incident," directed by Renny Harlin (Deep Blue Sea, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2). Check it out below.

Plot: Follows a group of American students on a trek to investigate the true life mystery of nine Russian skiers who befell unexplained deaths while skiing in the Russian mountains in 1959. To this day, their deaths have been one of the most bizarre unsolved mysteries of the 20th century.

The new movie will hit theaters in a few foreign territories later this month, but has yet to be acquired for US distribution.

I know what you're all thinking right now.."But we want to hear MOAR about Harlin's 3D Hercules epic film extravaganza!".

This actually is an intriguing story. Too bad it's a found footage film, which 99% of the time sucks, and it's directed by Harlin, which 99% of the time sucks.

^^I wonder if Vanessa Hudgens sucks 99% of the time.

And before mink chastises me for reusing a joke I feel this is more applicable than a Crouching Tiger sequel.

It was the aliens that did it like they said on Ancient Aliens.

@cress

Yeah, it's an interesting story with a potential to make a great movie.

But that's not that movie.

@Deaft0ne: actually, your third post is one of the funniest things I've read on here in a while, especially because of that wild-haired freak you referenced.

And the Dyatlov event has been pretty well explained, but you won't hear the explanation from me because I'm not fat and black.

So they took the Blair Witch idea and cross-breed it with Paranormal Activity?
Deaft0ne writes:

@mink

The Last Stand and Killer Joe
minkowski writes:

@Deaft0ne: not much at Red Box. Not much good.

Maybe:

Dredd

Flight

Frankenweenie

Looper

Premium Rush

Lawless

Most of the rest of what they have is either old, like TDKR, or sh*t.

^^His high point was The Long Kiss Goodnight, with a huge assist from Black. That how "far" he's fallen.

@Mink, and anyone else interested about how scripts are greenlit in Hollywood. This is a fascinating new article. Even mentions Shane Black's rise and Harlin. So, on topic. Yaaaay...
