"The Office" to Air Final Episode on May 16thPosted: February 7th, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

NBC has announced that it will air the final episode of its hit TV series "The Office" on Thursday, May 16th from 9-10pm EST. The hour-long finale will make the 200th episode of the show.
The network noticed a decline in the ratings after Steve Carell decided to leave "The Office." The Emmy-winning show played around with bringing on different celebrities, but ultimately failed to keep its audience.
NBC asked Carell to return for the final episode, but the actor declined the offer.

What's the point at this moment to comeback. The show has already been cancel, showing in or not, is not going to make a difference..... Anyway, good move Carrell!

Unfortunately, "The Office" went on two seasons too long. Carell MADE that show. I enjoyed all the cast, from Rainn Wilson's Dwight to Krasinski's Jim , and so on. But watching Carell in that role---he just really nailed it. I would sit there there and cringe at how bone-headed and idiotic his Michael Scott character would be, then burst out laughing at his antics moments later. Ed Helms is funny, but he could not be that same caliber of performer that Carell is. He just didn't work as the new office boss. I liked James Spader in his brief stint post-Carell, but soon found myself losing interest in the show. That is mostly due to Carell's departure. The writing had started to decline in the last few years, but it still made me laugh like no other comedy show in recent memory.

Yeah, I’m happy the show is coming to an end, but not because I think it’s become terrible like everyone else seems to think. It’s still a wholly charming and amusing comedy, even if it has lost its momentum over the last two years or so. I just think it’s time (or perhaps bit past its time) to hang up the spurs while the show still has some integrity to its original premise.
And who needs a Carell comeback? Just end the last show with a Pam and Erin lesbian sex scene. Ratings boost guaranteed.

I agree this show ran two seasons too long. Andy as a boss? Jim as a clutz who means well but always fails? Plus Pam and Jim's relationship became boring well before their wedding. And replacing that relationship with a live triangle with Erin, Andy and that sabre guy who's name eludes me. Its bad when one character leaves and the rest of the cast collectively gain his bad habits. Or it's really bad when Oscar or James Spader is funnier than almost everyone else. Glad the show is dead. Hopefully Parks and Rec will keep Councilwoman knope for a couple more seasons, otherwise, same thing will happen.

Carell will definitely appear in the final episode even if very briefly. They just don't want to spoil it yet.
