"Zero Dark Thirty" Actor Cast in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy"Posted: February 5th, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
After a long search, Marvel decided to cast Chris Pratt (Zero Dark Thirty, Moneyball) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie. The actor beat half of Hollywood for the role, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises), Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas) and Zachary Levi ("Chuck").
Quill leads a group of alien superheroes who team to protect the solar system from an evil alien race. The good guys are from the future, and another dimension. In the comics, the Guardians worked with The Avengers.
The new movie is directed by James Gunn (Super, Slither) and is set to hit theaters on August 1st, 2014.

He will lead The Guardians of the Galaxy. But if that doesn't pan out, they will become a cover-band named Just The Tip.
*sorry; that was a Parks and Rec joke; I'm probably the only one that got that (*hangs head)

'After a long search...' --- how hard were they looking. This guy is in a movie just out.
Now... Nick Stahl, or ever Gary Colemen... THAT would take some heavier searching (especially Gary).

I guess that since he did help kill Bin Laden so that already qualifies him for saving the galaxy? What an awesome hollywood's logic.

"What an awesome hollywood's logic."
You have some funny logic yourself, Boogiel. Chris Pratt is most likely going to be recognized from ZD30 so if Peter Quill shows his face there's your box-office draw. Pretty sure that's the logic.
But, Mink basically said that with far less words. Actually only two. So, f*ck me, I guess.

Chris Pratt is older now than Ben Affleck was when he did Daredevil.
Besides the point - I like this guy as Star Lord.

At this point, the Marvel audience is huge and built-in. They'll go see any new property no matter who the star is.

Only problem if anyone chooses Chris Pratt is I'll never take him seriously after his work on parks and rec. I quick shave would help I suppose.

Very happy for him but I really hope this doesn't interfer with his time on Parks and Rec - One of the funniest characters in prime-time.

Whoever Pratt's agent / manager is deserves a standing ovation. He's lining this guy up for a good run of roles that'll bring in some good $$.
