Paramount Pictures has unveiled the Super Bowl ad for "Star Trek: Into Darkness," starring Chris Pine, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zachary Quinto and Karl Urban. Check it out below.
Plot: When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk (Pine) leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.
The new movie is once again directed by JJ Abrams, and is set to hit theaters on May 17th.
Only JJ. Abrams could make a Star Trek film on one planet, with them going nowhere. I really hope all the "doom gloom kaboom" we are seeing on earth happens in the third act, and that a good portion of the movie is in space.
This will be the first Trek film to clear over $300 million domestic easily.

Pretty awesome. I agree with Cress this will rake up some serious cash here in the States.
Also, I kind of DON'T like how they're doing exactly the very same thing with the Enterprise they did in Generations: blowing up the old stodgy ship so they introduce something far more glitzy and Apple-esque the next time around. I mean, the bridge already looks fit to sell me a 64 gig iPod with candy cotton ear buds and a iCushion for my baby-tender ass. How about something a little more...industrial and space-ish?
And Star Trek with perhaps not much star, I guess. So...Trek? Maybe they do a lot of walking instead of warping. Maybe rename it to 'Nike' or something then.
Still, pretty awesome, even if it's Generations all over again.
