Three Posters for James McAvoy's "Trance" Thriller, Directed by Danny BoylePosted: January 27th, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Today we have three posters for the upcoming "Trance" thriller, which is directed by Danny Boyle (28 Days Later, Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours) and stars James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class), Vincent Cassel (Eastern Promises) And Rosario Dawson (Sin City). Check them out below.
Plot: Fine art auctioneer Simon (McAvoy), in league with a gang led by underworld boss Franck (Cassel), plots the theft of a masterpiece from a major public auction. When Simon double-crosses the gang during the robbery, Franck retaliates violently and knocks him unconscious.
In the aftermath of the heist, Simon sticks stubbornly to his claim that the violent trauma has left him with no memory of where he stashed the artwork. Unable to coerce the painting's location from Simon, Franck and his associates reluctantly join forces with a charismatic hypnotherapist (Dawson) in a bid to get him to talk.
The movie is set to hit UK theaters on March 27th. A US release will follow soon after.

Trance? Should have called 'Fish Out of Water', because flopping and death is its future.

Franck (Cassel) I didn't know the Punisher was into heists and hypnotherapy. Must've turned over a new leaf.

I mean, it's a crime heist movie that devolves into your choice of either that scene in Office Space wherein Peter Gibbons gets hypnotized into being a super-slacker, or that scene in Stir of Echoes wherein Tom Witzky's blue-collar mind goes all Sixth Sense. Except without any of the cool after-effects, aka, 'The Plot, Parts II and III'.

I'm pretty sure any crime heist film with Vincent Cassel will blow.
Just see Ocean's 12 and 13.

That Cassel is realy climbing the Hollywood ladder, eh?
I really enjoyed his acting along side of Viggo Mortensen in EASTERN PROMISES the both had great chemistry/ talent and was a pretty good villain in BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF, but the movies I've really wanted to see is LA HAINE and the 2 part MESIRINE. I've heard only good things about'em, but I'll eventually make time to see them.
What sucks is that Hollywood does f*ck over the foreign talent over here, so basically all foreigners' previous projects have little bearing and have to start from the bottom up...Ana Anaya(Spain) and Jean Hugh Anglade (French) come to mind. Exceptions include Marion Cotillard with LA VIE EN ROSE.
I guess they have to pay their dues as the struggling ones here...

Mesirine two parter is Vincent's best work. Prefer the first film though. The second just seems like the director and writer didn't know how to end it.

"...Vincent's best work."?
"That's a bold statement..."
Will definitely check that movie first....thanks Avirex.

But recalling OCEAN'S THIRTEEN, to give you an idea, I liked the scene at the end where Clooney & Roberts bust him telling him he never really got the jewel...if you see him act, he really outshines the both in his role. F*cker makes it look too easy...
...and then he got screwed with that lackey, lame ass role in OCEAN'S FOURTEEN. Anyways...
