"X-Men: Days of Future Past" Bringing Back Rogue, Kitty Pryde and Iceman

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" Bringing Back Rogue, Kitty Pryde and IcemanSubmit Comment
Director Bryan Singer (X-Men) is getting ready to begin filming the sequel to "X-Men: First Class," called "X-Men: Days of Future Past." We know the new movie involves time-traveling, which is why Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Hugh Jackman will all reprise their Professor X, Magneto and Wolverine roles.

Singer has now revealed that more actors are coming back from the original trilogy, including Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde) and Shawn Ashmore (Iceman). The director went on to thank Brett Ratner for letting the characters survive "X-Men: The Last Stand."

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" has Kitty Pryde sending her mind back to her younger self in order to warn the X-Men that Senator Robert Kelly's assassination will result in a future where Sentinels rule the United States and mutants live in internment camps.

Meanwhile, "First Class" actors James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult have also been confirmed to return. But Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert) and January Jones (Emma Frost) recently revealed that 20th Century Fox has yet to reach out to them to reprise their roles.

Sarcasm mode:

Are all these characters going to get about 10 seconds of screen time each?????

If Iceman is returning, does that mean his nemesis is retrning as well? What's his name---Fireman?
No, that's not it.
Flamethrower?
Still doesn't sound right.
Hot Hands?
Flinty McPalms?
The Human Torch?
Hot Potato?

YES for Ellen Page. Who gives a sh*t about Anna as Rogue, she sucked!

Sorry guys Rose won't be back bc she'll be shooting a porno with me. That's where her career is going.

Rogue lost her powers at the end of X3. Why is she coming back?
Xavier's school will need cleaning, and she is part of the Molly Maid crew who comes to do the job.

Emma Frost from X2 was hotter anyway
January Jones was lame

Somewhere, Alan c*mming is sitting in his nightgown, alone in his apartment, staring solemnly at the phone. This is what happens when you don't give Bryan Singer any ass on set--you don't get asked back.

Is Angel Wings from X3 coming back?
That doesn't sound right either.
Gabriel?
No..
Daddy's Little Secret?
Archangel Pansy?

Someone should invent time travel to stop this sh*tty franchise from ever happening.

It has about as much in common with the X-Men as the Resident Evil flicks do with the games.

@cress: Nobody really lost their power in X3. It was shown that the "cure" wasn't permanent. Magneto started to get his powers back in the ending.
cress writes:
on January 27th, 2013 at 12:03:33 PM

Not really. It was hinted at with Magneto. I just hope Rogue had enough time to give a blowjob without ending a life.

I'd be just a little more excited if someone else directed. Singer has no clue how to do action right.

SHM. You're so negative, Bando. You act like Bryan Singer has made a bunch of boring movies or something.

Iceman is an omega-level mutant, geez, what a powerful character he is, for sure.

I mean, why don't they make this movies as hollywood budget one-arc miniseries, instead?

Again, I mean, Watchmen would have been better as a series o full length one hour episodes. Cause this guys here, deleted or didn't even bothered shooting from the GN of the Moore/Gibbons masterpiece for example

-Scenes of Ozymandias doing his acrobatics on Television and those subliminal shots of his ass and crotch.

-Faghattan and Laurie visiting Veidt at his Pyramid in the snow, telling much more about what was going on there.

-The apparition of the other-dimension squid. A more accurate depiction of the destruction of NY as in the comics. (This movie was already an R rated flick, and kids every day watch more disturbing REAL scenes of violence in daily life, let's don't bother in going further with all that around violence and all that). You get the idea.

-Then Manhattan walking over the surface of the pool.

-Manhattan telling the dialogue he said to Laurie in the movie, saying it to Veidt instead as in the comics. Again, subliminal, subversive legal propagandist scene, of course.

Watchmen wasn't as successful as the X-men saga, yes, but the material was a lot more specific, it was a one long ride of a story.

That might be the problem with neverending comicbook storylines, endless, nonstop.

Weird that the most important and significant stories are those that have a beginning and an end, it doesn't really matter how an open end it is.

But hey, could you imagine, DC and Marvel finishing their safe and sure money/making characters were put an end and then begin with new different characters? No, f*ck that, we prefer to change Spidey from Peter to an African American kid and so on.

*That's one of the main reasons why I prefer Manga and European comic books. Whether those are stories that will take 5 to 10 to 20, maybe, years to finalize, they finish.

Going from long running series like Fist of the North Star, Lone Wolf and Cub, to Eden It's an Endless World to f*cking Akira, to yet to end stories like GANTZ! and motherf*cking Berserk to european comics like Incal, Metabarons, Alef Thau, The Arlight Garage, just to name a few bunch.

They point is that I don't give a sh*t about this comicbook movie sagas anymore, including STAR WAR and sh*t Trek, but the truth is that I would be very glad if they do good at the box office and will be very impress if I ever hear or realize that the quality of this flicks isn't anymore into it's production values and FX but also into the plots.

Thank you very much if you make an effort to take the time to read this badly written comment.

Very much appreciated.

minkowski writes:

Actually, other than the obviousness that it's a clever play on the fact a group of lions is called a "pride", hence the kitty part, the character was named after a school friend of Marvel artist John Byrne.
