"Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" Sequel to Begin Filming in MaySubmit Comment
The Weinstein Company has announced that it is moving forward with a sequel to "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," an Ang Lee-directed film that won four Oscars and ended up grossing $213 million on a $17 million budget.

The studio is planning to begin shooting in Asia in May and already has a script by John Fusco (Hidalgo, Young Guns). Chinese director Ronny Yu (Freddy vs. Jason, Bride of Chucky) is in talks to direct. Lee will not be involved with the project, which is based on "Silver Vase, Iron Knight," the fifth book in a series by Wang Du Lu. "Crouching Tiger" was based on the fourth book.

The sequel continues the story of Yu Shu Lien, the character played by Michelle Yeoh in the original film. It's not clear which actors will return to reprise their roles, but some likely will. The budget has been set at over $20 million.

Ronny Yu is the only upside to this. His last martial arts film was great.

That's one of the most awesome titles ever!

I would have chosen 'sh*tting Bear, Pissing Raccoon', but hell, the one you chose is SO much better!

Instead of watching a visual interpretation in any way of the series of this books, I would love to put my hands all over them, but I get the impression that this novels have not being translated into English language, yet.

I appreciate the Lee flick, though.
