Release Dates for Ashton Kutcher's "jOBS," Sylvester Stallone's "Grudge Match" and Ridley Scott's "The Counselor"Posted: January 24th, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
  The upcoming Steve Jobs biopic, which is called "jOBS" and stars Ashton Kutcher as the Apple Co-founder will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 25th. But it has already been picked up by Open Road films and set to hit theaters on April 19th, the 37th anniversary of the Apple Computer.
Meanwhile, two new movies have been set for November 15th. First is "Grudge Match," starring Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro as two boxers who, 50 years after their last fight, are coaxed out of retirement for one final match. Peter Segal (Get Smart) is directing.
The other is Ridley Scott's "The Counselor," which stars Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz. The story revolves around a lawyer who finds himself in over his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking.
And finally, producer Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Sinister, Insidious) is back with another horror film, called "Ghosts," which is set to hit theaters on January 10th, 2014. The story revolves around a woman, who loses her fiance in an accident and is forced to move to her parents' ruined Louisiana mansion, where she discover a strange gift from her long-dead mother and a terrifying presence determined to destroy her.

@pornfly
For years I thought either Richard Donner or John Mctiernan had directed Demolition Man. Especially Donner because Bullock's char has a Lethal Weapon 3 poster in her office.
But Demo Man was on the other night on ion television - positively entertaining and the director is some dude named Marco Gonad or some sh*t.
DM is the only film he ever directed and his only other known work is directing the 'Power' video for world-class a**hole Kanye West.

I will ask you all to not write off The Counselor because of Ridley for two reasons:
A) Michael Fassbender
B) Cormac McCarthy (yes, Cormac McCarthy) wrote the screenplay

Scott's an old man, and he probably didn't hire Lindelhof anyway. The studio did. So I think he's still a reputable director. After all, direction wasn't the problem with Prometheus, it was the script, and Scott had little if anything to do with that. I say this because The Counselor has a decent line-up, and if Scott's directing, then that's two out three sewn up. The story is culled from a McCormac novel, I believe, so if they hired a decent scriptwriter, that's three out of three.
The only remaining question is if the source material is any good.
As for the other films...Grudge Match sounds interesting, but those two old beasts reprising their starring heyday roles in a film with a rather lazy title doesn't inspire me to run off to the theater just yet.
The third sounds very unoriginal, and that's all I have to say about that one.
