Arnold Schwarzenegger Says He'll Return for "Terminator 5"Posted: January 23rd, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
While promoting "The Last Stand," Arnold Schwarzenegger was asked about some of his upcoming projects. The actor said that he's set to return for another "Conan" movie, a sequel to "Twins," and the fifth "Terminator" film.
Schwarzenegger was attached to "Terminator 5" back when Justin Lin (Fast Five) was on board to direct. Since then Lin dropped out due to a scheduling conflict. Just recently Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island, Alexander) and Patrick Lussier (My Bloody Valentine) have been brought on to write the script. And it turns out that Schwarzenegger is still on board.
After "Terminator Salvation" underperformed at the box office, James Cameron said that future "Terminator" films must have Schwarzenegger in them if they want to be successful. Now word on whether Schwarzenegger will return to play T-800 or if the writers are coming up with a different role for him.

A +65 y/o playing the T-800!?
Unless Arnie finds the fountain of youth and Cameron is set to direct it, I really don't see how this will be better than Terminator Salvation.
Good luck with that Arnold.

Its Skynets new brilliant plan. To send a old looking robot back to the future to kill an old Sarah Connor at the home for old folks.

^^Why would Skynet send a Terminator back in time to kill an old woman who harbors no possible threat to the machine-controlled future?
I know you were trying to make a funny, but if it's not going to be funny, could you at least make it make sense?
Anyway. Please, please, please just reboot the original movie. Please. Mercy. Enough with these terrible rumors and terrible spin-offs and sequels. Give this poor franchise a modic*m of relief and mercy.

here's wishing to see an army of T-800s all looking like arnold and just walking towards john connor...then again, that'll never happen, it's just as much as hoping for an army of T-1000s only none of these directors think inside and outside the box...so now my stakes are betting that it's not arnold required to make T5 a hit, people are just tired of it because they continue to add and change everyrhing after T2...we'll see what happens, T3 never existed in my eyes, T4 was better than 3 but not better than 1 or 2...if it can't be better than 1 or 2 then it cannot be improved

@supaflywill: that was Terminator 3. James Cameron wouldn't be caught dead doing anything even tangentially connected to T3.

If he returns to Terminator, I hope he doesn't go commando again or else his career will become collateral damage and it'll be end of days for him.
