Video: Arnold Schwarzenegger Says Mispronouncing Words is Key to Great One-LinersSubmit Comment
While promoting his new movie, "The Last Stand," Arnold Schwarzenegger was asked about the secret to delivering a great one-liner. The actor explained that the most important thing is to have a heavy accent and to mispronounce the words.

He went on to quote his famous lines from "Predator," "Kindergarten Cop" and "Terminator," pointing out how a normal person would say them and how they ended up, due to his accent. In a separate interview, Arnold said that they knew which lines would become popular and it was always a surprise when it happened.

Take a look at the video below and let us know which of Arnold's many one-liners is your favorite. I personally love the one from "Commando," when he's holding Sully (David Patrick Kelly) over a cliff by his ankle. He eventually drops him to his death, but when Rae Dawn Chong asks him what happened to Sully, Arnold responds: "I let him go."

Rae Dawn Chong. I used to have a raging pre-chub for her as a kid

David Patrick Kelly - short man with a long name.

And Arnie, you didn't know which of your lines would become popular. So shovel it somewhere else, you senile f*ck.
Ranger writes:

Or his favorite: 'f*ck your *sshole!'

Most commonly used about the maid.
pornfly writes:

My favorite was when Maria asked Arnold what he was doing with the maid he said,"makin babies"

hilarious
cress writes:

My favorite one-liner is "Yo, Adrian!"

Oops! Sorry, wrong mongrel.
Cannon writes:

Eh, sorry, Iím completely spent on the Arnold impersonations. Itís too taxing for my brain. Someone else should take over. Anyone. Here, Iíll start things off:

"Iíve just been cast to play Lance Ahmstlong in da new moovy about Lance Ahmstlong and itís gonna be fantastic..."

Pointers:

Da = the
Dis = this
Dat = that
Odda = other
Wit = with
Moovy = movie
Somesing = something
Moah = more
Befoah = before
Sowahd = sword
Gural = girl
Aaahuuaahgh! = Ah!

I see "The Last Stand" opened with just $2mil on Friday, Not looking good for a strong weekend now !

Anyone seen it yet ?????
minkowski writes:

"Not looking good for a strong weekend now !"

Told you it would flop, and so will he his Conan "sequel".

And The Last Stand is down to 56% at RT.

Don't get this guy. He says his best lines are the ones in which he f*cks up his pronunciation, and yet, they're not. It's the lines and the context in which those lines live.

All of his great quips are clearly understood. They're great because they're ironic, or cheesy, or they play on his size, or because they're menacing. None of them are memorable because he raped the English language speaking them.

Wonder if he's getting Alzheimer's.

The thing is Schwarzeneggar is already past his prime. He took a big loss doing the Governor thing..

He really should've gauged the paying movie audience's response back on screen by doing a couple of cameos, IMO.

He wanted to pick up where he left off, but so much has happened since his departure.

If he starts choosing his movie roles more carefully and stop cashing on his previous famous roles, he might be able to have longevity.

Stallone doesn't do too shabby, but he always tried to be on the pulse of what the audience wanted to see from him...and even that I know takes it's toll on his career. His numbers are really down since 80-90s roles...
Rambo writes:

apparently it's also a key for box office flop...the last stand tanked at the box office making only 2 mil on friday

Mink

Yeah i agree on Conan as well that movie holds no interest to me what so ever, Fingers crossed though that The Tomb will turn out decent.

Also i'm very interested on how Bullet To The Head and Die Hard 5 will perform in a couple of weeks at the boxoffice, Could it be the end of the 80s action star on the big screen.
trailertrash writes:

Think i may wait for the Blu Ray ....
Ranger writes:

In other news, Bruce isn't too keen on Die hard 5:

ďIím really pleased to continue to be asked back to do other versions and other incarnations of Die Hard. The first one really is... thatís all there is. Everything else is just trying to be as good as that film.Ē

Ooooh, burn.

Yeah i have that feeling about that movie too. That said it has been getting ok reviews on the net, So maybe all is not lost yet !

Die Hard 5 is a tough one to call i think about $25mil opening weekend in the US,After that if it's any good $80-100 mil if it's crap $50mil and the end of the franchise unless the rest of the world boxoffice is massive ($200mil plus).

@mink

it's almost 4AM here and I can't sleep but as for Last Stand it was a fun movie. Knoxvilles char makes more sense when you see the movie as opposed to how moronic he comes off in the ads.

Ahnuld is the old guy bored until his ddrive is f*cked with. He is all bidniz when its time to protect his town.
Deaft0ne writes:

Fukn samsung.

Anyways. Arnie has a great end shootout that calls back to his heyday. I loved it seeing how it was presented. He f*cks up a lot of dudes and it is hilarious but you roll with it.
