"Scarface" Director and Al Pacino Re-Team for "Happy Valley" Penn State Scandal FilmPosted: January 17th, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Al Pacino and director Brian De Palma, who worked together on "Scarface" and "Carlito's Way," are re-teaming for "Happy Valley," a new movie about the controversial Penn State football coach Joe Paterno.
The film will be based on Joe Posnanski's biography "Paterno," which is a NY Times best-seller. Pacino will play the winningest coach in college football history. But when it came out that his former defense coordinator Jerry Sandusky is a pedophile and Paterno didn't properly report the scandal, the coach was fired. He died shortly after of cancer.
NCAA reacted by removing Paterno's wins going back to the cover-up. Sandusky was found guilty on 45 counts of sexual abuse against young boys and will spend the rest of his life in prison.
Producers are currently in talks with David McKenna (American History X, Blow) to write the script.

Michael Gambon (aka Dumbledore) should play Sandusky. He looks just like him. Plus it would be twice as creepy seeing Professor D as a child molesto.
"Hey kid want to see a magic trick?"

Has Brian DePalma become so irrelevant, so forgotten, that his name couldn't be used in the headline instead of "...Scarface Director.."? Guess so.

"winningest coach in college football history"
Win.
"Jerry Sandusky is a pedophile"
No sh*t. His name could only sound pedophilier if he was called "Creamy McLollipop"

Vin Diesel should get the old man makeup on and play Jerry Sandusky.
Or get Denzel Washington! He can play anything!

I'll wait for Hollywood to exploit some other tragedy, for instance the Newtown School Massacre, starring Jodie Foster, Nick Nolte and Edward Furlong as Adam Lanza.
