Steven Spielberg Confirms "Jurassic Park 4," Unveils Release DateSubmit Comment
After years of talk about "Jurassic Park 4," Universal Pictures and Steven Spielberg have announced that they are moving forward with the new installment and will have it in theaters on June 13th, 2014.

Spielberg is on board only as a producer, but since he recently delayed "Robopocalypse" and doesn't have anything else to direct, many believe that he may want to helm "Jurassic Park 4." He did, however, state several times that he would rather hire someone for the job.

The "Jurassic Park" trilogy has grossed almost $2 billion worldwide with "Jurassic Park 3" grossing $363 million. Universal is also planning a 3D re-release of the first movie, which will hit theaters on April 5th.

Bring speilberg back, make it a full circle story and bring it back to part one. Do it rocky 6 style. If they hire/bring back good actors and have a good story, plus steve comes back I see great potential. I'm excited

I have faith...
I'm hoping this follows the 'Scream' or 'Lethal Weapon' trend where even though the 3rd was sh*t, they lift their game a little for the 4th.

Wayne Knight survived his attack by the dilophosaurus pack, befriended one and had inter-species sex, and produced a fat f*cking breed of dinosaur that spits due to acid reflux.

Reboot the damned thing. That's probably what this will be in every way but name anyway.

I don't even remember which sequel of this franchise bored me the most. I remember Tia Leoni in one of them. Wait... maybe I've only seen one of the sequels. Forgettable sh*t. Like mink says... reboot the first one, and quit milking this sh*t Spielberg. Remember when you used to care?! Nah... me either.
minkowski writes:

@Ranger: the third one was the worst imo. Just horrible.

Joe Johnston is poor man's Stephen spielberg. Ever look at his filmography list? He makes movies that spielberg would consider, but ultimately turn down.

Jurassic park 3, wolfman, jumanji, rocketeer, hidalgo

@james - I agree.

@mink - was that the one with Leoni and Macy? Whichever. The one I say sucked farts out of dead cows.

The birdcage part in 3 was kinda cool. Thats about all I can say though.

I thought the 'the lost world' was the least worst from the trilogy...the 2 kids f*cking annoyed me in the first one and the third one was just blah...

The could just adapt the rest of the second book. Even though the second film was based off of it, the two are very much different from each other.

And there are a few things, such as the raptors and the kid stuck in the cage (shark and underwater-diver style), that would make for some nail-biting entertainment.

Damon242 writes:

For anyone who hasn't read the second book, the similarities with it and the film end with the characters involved and the location.

They are otherwise completely different stories. And it'd be nice for the film franchise to tie loose ends such as the whole secret dealing in the first film with the rival company, which plays quite a substantial part in the second book.
