Tim Robbins and Will Forte Join "Jackie Brown" PrequelPosted: January 9th, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

The upcoming prequel to Quentin Tarantino's "Jackie Brown, which is based on Elmore Leonard's "The Switch" novel, has brought on Tim Robbins and Will Forte to replace Dennis Quaid and Ty Burrell.
Set 15 years before the events in "Jackie Brown," story follows career criminals Ordell (Mos Def) and Louis (John Hawkes) as they team up to kidnap Mickey Dawson (Jennifer Aniston), the wife of a corrupt real estate developer (Robbins). When the husband refuses to pay the ransom for his wife's return, the ex-cons are forced to reconceive their plan, and the angry housewife uses them to get her revenge.
Forte will play will play Marshall Taylor, a married country club member who harbors a crush on Mickey and spends most of the film in a moral dilemma after witnessing her kidnapping.
Dan Schechter (Supporting Characters) wrote the script and will direct. The plan is to start production next month.

"When the husband refuses to pay the ransom for his wife's return, the ex-cons are forced to reconceive their plan, and the angry housewife uses them to get her revenge."
That is the exact same plot as in "Ruthless People" with De Vito & Bette Middler which was quite funny but this prequal is supposed to be violent as "Jackie Brown" was. Therefore Jennifer Aniston doesn't fit in the picture since she was lousy in "Derailed". she's a prude and can't act in a Tarantino style movie.
Tim Robbins is a has been, I don't know what the f*ck he did for all those years. Still curious though.

Yes indeed Trailer.
Funny because I saw Shawshank few months ago and it had the same effect on me as I saw it in theater when it was released in 1994. Tim Robbins delivered such a masterly interpretation that I don't understand how he lost it after that.

Will Forte in a Quentin Tarantino film's prequel, huh?
By god is that the most bizarre casting decision I have ever heard of in my entire life.

This is not a "prequel to Tarantino's 'Jackie Brown'." It is an adaptation of a novel that exists in the same universe as Jackie Burke, a character created by Elmore Leonard that would become "Jackie Brown."
This is not a Tarantino film and it's a really lame way to get article clicks by calling it a prequel to "Jackie Brown."

They say sh*t floats.
When this movie comes out on DVD, I'm going to shoplift a copy, toss it into my toilet, and see if that's true.
