John Krasinski and Dave Bautista in Talks for "Guardians of the Galaxy"?Submit Comment
Now that Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" is set to go in front of the cameras soon, there are plenty of actors auditioning for the leading role of Peter Quill/Star-Lord in "Guardians of the Galaxy," including Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises) and Michael Rosenbaum ("Smallville").

CBM has now learned that John Krasinski ("The Office") is also in talks for the role of Star-Lord, while Isaiah Mustafa (Old Spice guy), Bran Patrick (The Guardian) and WWE wrestler Dave Bautista (Man With the Iron Fists) are in negotiations for the role of Drax the Destroyer.

Star-Lord leads a group of alien superheroes (including Drax the Destroyer) who team to protect the solar system from an evil alien race. The good guys are from the future, and another dimension. In the comics, the Guardians worked with The Avengers.

Drax the Destroyer was an average human male named Arthur Douglas, whose family was murdered by Thanos. A being by the name of Kronos took the soul of Douglas and placed it in a far superior body to challenge Thanos.

John Krasinski was also in the mix for Captain America once upon a time. I just don't see him as a superhero.

Fun fact: James Gunn used to be married to Krasinski's "Office" co-star Jenna Fischer. Maybe they've both had her and can swap stories on set.

If it isn't endless Star Wars 7 news, it's endless Lohan news, and if it isn't any of that sh*t, it's this.

Bang a new drum for a change, Alex.
