See How the Most Complicated "The Avengers" Scene Was Created

See How the Most Complicated The Avengers Scene Was CreatedSubmit Comment
Industrial Light and Magic (ILM), the company that created some of the impressive special effects in this summer's "The Avengers," has unveiled a new video showing how they were able to put together the complicated one-shot scene that shows all the superheroes as they battle the Chitauri.

According to the company, the shot was created using four different virtual New York locations that resulted in over 1,200 shots of the city. Then everything had to be put together seamlessly to show Iron Man fly through the city.

Even though Iron Man, The Hulk, and all the aliens were CG characters, ILM had to also create a digital Captain America to fit the superhero into the scene. Check out the video below to see all the hard work that went into the movie.

I don't know either, porn, anyway, I wonder how Scarlett's vagina look like wide open.

I won't even mind if they ever do a CG version of it.

The process is very interesting, really.

^yep, from purely technological standpoint that would be interesting.

Now THIS is awesomely useful, Alex.

'Bout damned time you did something right.

The miraculous nature of a beautiful vagina cannot be recreated using CGI. Its better to go practical and have Scarlett perform a Sharon Stone move. Then they can release all 25 takes of that scene on Blu Ray.

The miraculous nature of Lindsey Lohans vagina however can be recreated using a bulldog and a bowl of yesterday's captain crunch.

Trumbull effects, so to say.

lol. The entire long shot was several separate CGI shots stitched together?

Well big f*cking deal. Much easier to do right when the entire shot is synthetic.

Yawn.

Off topic kinda, but did anyone else notice how much smaller Chris Evans was in this movie?

Really? CG!? So you're saying it WASN'T just one continuos track shot on a giant spaceship in NYC?
minkowski writes:

^^You didn't see the video, I take it. The long shot was actually along a CGI street set extension, not a spaceship, and they had the bulk of the scene built in analogue.

Try watching the video next time, WV.

Ahem.

Interesting. But The Avengers is still the most overrated movie of 2012.
