Last year, Warner Bros announced that it is developing a live-action "Hong Kong Phooey" film, to be directed by Alex Zamm ((Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, Tooth Fairy 2) and voiced by Eddie Murphy. It's not clear what the status of the project is, but Zamm has now unveiled test footage from the movie. Check it out below, in addition to footage from the live-action "Marvin the Martian" movie, which Zamm has been also attached to.
"Hong Kong Phooey" revolves around a mild-mannered dog, named Penry, who, after stumbling into a mystic ceremony, is accidentally granted mystic powers, including the ability to walk, talk, and do kung fu. Under the tutelage of his kung fu master and with the help of his sidekick, Spot the cat, Penry dons a costume and becomes a crime fighter.
"Marvin the Martian" movie was announced back in 2008 and is based on a classic "Looney Tunes" character. Originally created in 1948, Marvin the Martian was often intent on blowing up the Earth, only to be foiled by Bugs Bunny.

STOP ruiining the classic cartoons. Every single cartoon made into a live-action movie has been ruined by people that think animation is dead. At least try to keep the characters personality.

Hmmmm. Something must be wrong with Warner Brothers, and Turner as well.
Looney Toons and Hanna-Barbera cartoons were the sh*t way back when, and even now they're pleasure for young and old alike, so while Dreamworks pushes with ease three Madagascar movies, and 20th Century Fox shovels more Ice Age sh*t, neither Turner nor WB, both big bank companies with quality programming and talented crews, can muster the will to turn their iconic properties into films people want to watch.
Why?

...and cartoon characters don't need an origin made by live action.

"Hong Kong Fooey" -- what is the point of combining: a crudely-animated cartoon for small children; photo-realistic CGI; and gross teenage-boy toilet humor?
"Marvin the Martian" -- why in the world did someone think the movie needed an obnoxious child? Was really hoping the kid would die.
In the Looney Tunes shorts, Marvin was a great character. Not enough to carry a feature.
And, for both movies -- have they all forgotten what made traditional animation so great? It's not supposed to look like reality.
