Today we have a new photo of Elijah Wood being dressed up to look like Gollum in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, which was supposed to feature a scene showing Frodo turning into Gollum.
In the original draft of the script for "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers," Faramir has a dream in which he has a vision of Frodo's future, should the ring take hold of his soul.
The scene was filmed, but never made it into the movie. Director Peter Jackson never released it as part of any bonus material, but provided a few clips from it on the Extended Edition Blu-ray of the film.

I hate anything Lord of the Rings, but that's some pretty cool minimalistic makeup. Really makes the transformation of Frodo into Gollum look well-conceived and plausible without a buttload of CGI and/or prostheses.
And yeah, that was pretty funny Avirex, even if I had to go to Google Images to get the laugh.

It's interesting you say that, considering that Jackson used RED EPIC cameras, which I had read film at 4K, but from what I've read, he used RED EPIC cameras @ 5K (more than twice 1080), 48 of them, which is some serious sh*t. The only down side of the entire thing, I think is that Jackson went for a weak 128 MB SSD, instead of 512 MB. Guess he didn't need more storage, what with the 48 cameras and all.
Some judicious budgeting indeed.
