Damon Lindelof Says He Won't Write "Prometheus" SequelPosted: December 20th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
One of the biggest issues that movie-goers had with "Prometheus," was that there were so many questions left unanswered. That's mostly thanks to writer Damon Lindelof ("Lost"), who commented many times on how some fans hated the film.
Now that Ridley Scott has announced a "Prometheus" sequel, Lindelof has revealed that he won't return to write the script, mostly because he's busy with other projects. "I'm very single-minded creatively," he said. "I can only be working on one thing at a time."
He went on to say that while working on the first movie, he and Scott worked out all the ideas for future installments. So he feels that the sequel will be left in good hands no matter who is hired to replace him.
"It was a dream come true to work with [Ridley]," Lindelof continued. "But much to the delight of all the fanboys, I don't see myself being involved in 'Prometheus' [sequel]."

At least he gave a definitive answer, a concept that was foreign to him when writing the Prometheus script.

Funny. He thinks by beating people to the punch, that makes him immune from criticism and portrays himself in a "haters gonna hate" light.
Too bad he uses the phrase "fanboys", which completely gives away his underlying displeasure.

Some guys can handle ten projects at once, like del Toro, and you, you can only handle one, and still somehow manage to f*ck it up completely.
Good riddance.

Mink, I think he means he can only be working on one thing in an entire script at once
This means the only thing he succeeded in doing was
uh
hm...
No, no, I must have it wrong.

Is he seriously the writer of Into Darkness?
Hold on, I have to double check that.
Oh. f*ck.
So that explains why, in the 9 minute hobbit preview, they were stopping a volcano from engulfing an indigenous population and kirk and mccoy were stealing an ancient scroll that this culture praised like a god when the prime directive CLEARLY. f*ckING. those 9 minutes were awful, I don't hold out much hope for the final product.
But of course, now that I think it'll suck, it'll garner a billion dollars.

"Yep, Scott and Phil discuss the logic-be-damned nerdgasm of an underwater Enterprise, as well as what (few) clues about the film's plot can be gleaned from this nine-minute IMAX presentation."
Logic-be-damned. That sums up Lindelhof perfectly.

"Logic-be-damned"
Seems to be a lot of that type of sh*t in big movies recently. Prometheus, TDKR. Especially TDKR.
I don't like the way film is headed, it seems like it's moving towards being a theme park ride.

Nah, man, wasn't the Mayans fault it was the fault of those who f*ck up what ever the Mayans were saying.
Those f*ckups are the same that are winning a lot of money but this prophecy sh*t.
Man. Then are those that, the end is when you die, and even those that say it's a new beginning, a moment of enlightment.
Geez. Man, I didn't know the second Star Trek flick has a submarine. Man, really, I saw the teaser and as everything in Hollywood it looked good.
I know what ever they come up with, plot-wise it will be nothing great not even decent.
They are style heavy over anything.

but in recent times something happen with flicks like fight club, 1st Matrix, haven't seen 13 floor, maybe 12 monkeys, but after that not much stuff.
28 Days Later, Sunshine, probably, but there are some trashy problems with both flicks, don't know, I'm going to see Dredd, though.
