Peter Jackson Plans to Shoot "Tintin" Sequel in 2013

Peter Jackson Plans to Shoot Tintin Sequel in 2013Submit Comment
When "Tintin" was first announced, the plan was for Steven Spielberg to direct the first installment, for Peter Jackson to direct the second, and a possible third film would be directed by either Spielberg, Jackson or another helmer.

Spielberg directed the first movie in 2011, but it somewhat underperformed, grossing only $77 million domestically on a $130 million budget. It also wasn't even nominated for a Best Animated Film Oscar. But thanks to foreign box office, the film went on to gross $374 million globally.

Apparently that was enough, because Jackson has now revealed that he hopes to being shooting the sequel in 2013. Anthony Horowitz was hired to write the script, which will likely be based on "Seven Crystal Balls" and "Prisoners of the Sun" storylines.

I second that. Really liked Tintin, very Indy-ish, 10 times better than Indy 4. Andy Serkis is a very very good actor.

Great news! I enjoyed very much the first one for its beautiful animation and story.

Can't wait for the second one.

And for you to know, the opening scene occured at the flea market located in the heart of Brussels and it was rendered amazingly accurate including the smallest details. Graphically speaking, it's absolutely superb.

Yep, great adventure with amazing animation. Tank sequence alone blew Indy 4 out of the water.

Here's to hope that Jackson will keep it on the same level.

animation sucks.

Seems like most Americans couldn't care less about Tin Tin, and as one of them, I'm not a fan of animation. Tin Tin seems to be more for the Europeans, and pretty much no one else.

Having said that, I haven't seen it, and I doubt I will. Like Rambo said, most animated films suck.
