That's some sh*tty compositing in the second poster.
Japanese will love this - it has everything: giant robots, giant monsters, blonde guys, synchronized movements. If it has rape it'll officially be the greatest movie ever for them.

Idris Elba is the best thing about this film. The trailer just felt like another transformers to me but with slightly worse graphics.

Well, the robots in the posters don't look real, even with the industry standard little people depictions to give the scene scale.
And why are the robots humanoid? Because that makes them more likable? Not really advantageous. Why give them forward bilateral eyes instead of 360 vision, or double 180 like many birds? Why base the robots designs solely on erect apes as if humans are the most advanced life in all respects? Why not make them huge squids with thermonuclear tipped tentacles? More than two legs so they're far more stable?
I just don't get it really. Seems contrived. Cool, but still contrived.
I mean, do these monsters just hang around cities then? If not, why not nuke them in the sea? Why not nuke their underwater portal? Kind of dumb to make these really large Big-O looking things just to fight monsters that could obviously be eliminated with a hydrogen or a neutron bomb.
