Johnny Depp is a Supercomputer in "Transcendence," Produced by Christopher NolanPosted: December 12th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Wally Pfister, the cinematographer who worked on all three of Christopher Nolan's "Batman" films, has now shifted his career to directing. His first project is "Transcendence," which will star Johnny Depp and be produced by Nolan. And today, we have the first bizarre plot details from the movie.
Plot: Three scientists - Max and the husband and wife team, Will (Depp) and Evelyn - have been developing a programming code for the world's first fully self-aware computer. When a group of anti-technology terrorists assassinate Will, Evelyn uploads his brain into a prototype supercomputer. Although she at first finds the experiment seems to have gone wrong, before too long Evelyn finds Will responding in computer form.
She goes on to connect Will to the Internet so he can help make further scientific breakthroughs. Will asks Evelyn to connect a microphone and a camera up to the computer so he can see and speak to her as well. When the terrorists find out, they try to steal the supercomputer and destroy it. But Will no longer needs the computer to survive.

This would work better I think if it were stop-motion animated, directed by Tim Burton and had Bonham Carter playing the computer mouse.
Keira Knightley can play the keyboard.

This actually, pretty much sounds like one of the arc's from the John Constantine's Hellblazer on the Jamie Delano run, when one of his friends get caught inside a computer and his real body is burned like a waffle.
But hey, it obvious has nothing to do with that Vertigo plot, in it?
