"Indiana Jones 4" Being Sued for Using Crystal Skull Artifact

Posted: December 7th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"Indiana Jones 4" Being Sued for Using Crystal Skull ArtifactSubmit Comment
Dr Jaime Awe, director of the Institute of Archeology of Belize, is suing Lucasfilm, Disney and Paramount Pictures for using the Crystal Skull artifact in Steven Spielberg's 2008 film "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" without asking Belize for permission.

The lawsuit states that the film used a replica of the Crystal Skull. The country is demanding a portion of the "illegal profits" earned by the movie, which grossed $786 million globally.

There are four known Crystal Skulls in the world. Three are on display in London, Paris and Washington. The other Awe says was stolen by an adventurer (FA Mitchell-Hedges) who discovered the stone under a collapsed alter in Belize and illegally brought it to the US in 1930.

"LucasFilm never sought, nor was given permission to utilize the Mitchell-Hedges Skull or its likeness in the film," says the complaint. "To date, Belize has not participated in any of the profits derived from the sale of the film."

Awe is also suing the family of Mitchell-Hedges for removing the Crystal Skull from the country and never returning it.

Bullsh*t. Bullsh*t. Bullsh*t. There's like ten different crystal skulls throughout the world (not four) many of which in a British museum IIRC, and all of them, every single one is a total and absolute fake.

It's been scientifically proven they're all modern frauds, even the vaunted Mitchell-Hedges skull, which was thought to be genuine for a time.

So how can this stupid f*ck sue for use of a skull that was never found inside Belize when it was in fact made by a friend and colleague of the man who claimed to have discovered it?

Nothing more than a piece of sh*t slimy foreigner trying to cash in on America's sue-happy attitude.

Belize should worry more about solving the murder of McAfee's friend and less about the likeness of some bullsh*t skull from some stupid movie, as if we don't have fair use in the US anyway.

Dr Awe sounds like a bad guy in a future Indy film.

This guy is obvious just trying to remind the world that his country still exists. It must suck to come from a place that has never given anything good to the world. I mean, even Madagascar contributes something to Earth, they give us vanilla.

Dr. Awe holds Belizean and Canadian citizenship, has 22 years of field experience in Maya archaeology, has served as Commissioner of Archaeology and Chief Archaeologist for the Government of Belize, and has taught at Universities in Canada, England, and the United States. He is presently director of the Western Belize Regional Cave Project (WBRCP) and of the Belize Valley Archaeological Reconnaissance Project (BVAR). Prior to directing BVAR, Dr. Awe conducted research at Caracol, Caledonia, Pacbitun, Cahal Pech, and the Valley of Peace. He now devotes his time in the field investigating Baking Pot and several caves in western Belize.

lol. Awe's an actual archeologist and yet he's too damned stupid to realize the damned crystal skull never originated in Belize.

He's nothing but a tool of the Belizean government.

No replica of the Mitchell-Hedges Skull was ever used in the film, only referenced. The alien skull that was seen in the film is a fanciful, visually exaggerated concoction that has never before been seen nor presented anywhere else in the real world as an actual or alleged artifact. So I have no idea what this dumb motherf*cker is talking about, except: "Hey, give me money!"

I've read a lot on the skulls, I'm on my phone so Im not going into much detail, But I kinda believe at least one of them are real... How can you fake that? Exspecially the one found over 100 years ago..

I'll look at your links later Mink Understand what your Comin from.

Also, This is stupid ass news regardless..

They're all fake, Tanman. All of them.

They were all made with modern tools, no later than the 18th century.

This has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, except in the case of the Mitchell-Hedges skull, which was tested I think once.

The investigation again revealed the use of modern drilling techniques, at which point the daughter of the man who supposedly discovered the skull demanded it back.

From that point she never allowed it to be scientifically tested, and yet never failed to milk it for money, much like Peter Jackson with Tolkien.

B. It's not hte Mitchell Hedges Skull

I can tell you a few things about the skulls

1. The ones that have been 'found' and the famous ones...have been proven to be fake.

2. No archaeologist (ones with a degree and some brain function) would ever try and take profits of an artefact, it would just be wrong. ( I study archaeology, nothing like Indy, such a shame)

3. If the skulls are real, and that is a really big f*cking 'IF', they can't really be copy writes, they are artefacts from an ancient civilisation (or aliens, depending on which retard from Ancient Aliens is shoving his face on tv)

So, just how will Belize claim ownership of the skulls likeness when they had NO hand in it's creation. lol. What a joke. Gold-digging pigs.
