Mario to Appear in "Wreck-It Ralph" Sequel

Mario to Appear in "Wreck-It Ralph" SequelSubmit Comment
Disney's "Wreck-It Ralph" animated movie featured lots of popular video game characters, but didn't include the most popular one, Mario. Since the film has already grossed $203 million on a $165 million budget, the studio is starting to think about developing a sequel.

Director Rich Moore is confident that a second installment will happen and says that Mario will be part of it. He explained that the character wasn't in the first movie because they couldn't figure out a way to work him in, not because Nintendo refused to give permission.

"We'll really come up with something good for Mario to do [in the next film]," said Moore. "To be able to present him in the sequel, would be great."

So do you think when that Italian plumber started taking mushrooms, he expected the trip to last 20 painstaking years?

It's interesting how modern games are picked apart for not being realistic enough, yet the most popular character of all time is an out-of-work plumber that spends his days taking massive amounts of leaves, flowers, and mushrooms with his equally worthless brother, murdering turtles for the hell of it, watching Silence of the Lambs and thinking "I bet I could do that with a raccoon's skin..", repeatedly smashing his head into brick ceilings, and trying to save the most idiotic helpless princess that he never had any business meeting in the first place. Save her from a dinosaur, no less.

(What the hell did Bowser want with her anyway? It couldn't have been to f*ck her, because he held her captive for the entire span of 30-someodd games. It can't be to kill her, because if 20 years of holding someone prisoner in a castle doesn't provide a constant chance to do away with her, you're doing it wrong. And why does he keep f*cking with Mario's friends anyway? You would think that the first 100 times of getting your ass completely kicked by an out-of-shape plumber would persuade you to just pick someone else.)

I say that if we're using video game characters, bring Mark Hamill's Joker out of retirement to give him a more appropriate farewell than a cheap ass death in Arkham City. Just take a really dark turn in the middle of the movie and let him kill everyone.

....That was supposed to be "30 years"*
Damn you, 6 AM.

I really liked this movie but I don't think a sequel is needed after the way it ended. I hope it'll be good doh.

yikes, it sounds like attos was never able to beat super mario world 3! plus that joker idea is pretty stupid.
Attos writes:

Lol, I love and still play SMB3. I kind of miss when games could make absolutely no sense and still be fun to play.

Now we have games like Lollipop Chainsaw. What a tragedy.

Good god, I beat SMB 1, 2, 3 and World over twenty f*cking years ago. I can do it today without even thinking. Great games btw back when video games were magic and not the bullsh*t they are today (mostly).

Anyway, the news. Don't care. Give Mario a f*cking movie already. He's earned it. And Zelda, and a Mega Man movie. f*ck. What are you doing Nintendo? All those awesom
minkowski writes:

e characters just going to waste.

Stupid.
GreenLensman writes:

suggesting a mega man movie at this point in time is just blasphemy, you know how james cameron waited for cgi to advance before he made avatar? well same idea for zelda and mega man, it pains me to even think about the failure it would be

Second what Killerc*ck said. The movie ended just fine. No need to add a sequel.
