Ian McKellen Knows Who'd Win in a Fight Between Magneto and Gandalf

Posted: December 4th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Ian McKellen Knows WhoSubmit Comment
Ian McKellen has played some very recognizable characters in his career, including Magneto in the "X-Men" franchise and Gandalf in "The Lord of the Rings" franchise.

Now, while promoting "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," the actor was asked who he thinks would win in a fight, Magneto or Gandalf. "You know Gandalf is more powerful than Magneto," he replied. "Yes, every time [Gandalf would win]. The old guy will do it every time. He's seven thousand years old. He knows it all."

McKellen returned to play Gandalf in "The Hobbit," which hits theaters on December 14th. He will also reprise his Magneto role in the upcoming "X-Men: First Class" sequel.

It would depend on the world. Not much metal in Gandalf's world, and not much magic in Magneto's.

Kind of stupid thing for the old buzzard to say, but then he f*cks young guys, or they f*ck him. Whatever.

Gandalf would win? Who give's a sh*t? I'm surprised he took that Jane Double meat sandwich outta his mouth long enough to speak of such a thing.

Early Reviews of 'The Hobbit' are not so positive...at 75% on RT...one critic compares it to the phantom menace

Well, if we are talking about the McKellan version of each character, then Father Time would kick both their asses.

"Early Reviews of 'The Hobbit' are not so positive...at 75% on RT...one critic compares it to the phantom menace"

According to IMDb, it has a 9.2 from over 9000 reviews. At it doesn't even come out for another ten days.

"An Unexpected Journey may as well be The Phantom Menace and God help us all if the next two movies aren't better than this one."

"Unless your dreams are populated by denizens of Middle Earth, endless footage of them simply talking or walking is a lot less spectacular than Peter Jackson thinks it is"

"Tolkien could invent names and languages, but he couldn't create a plot at gunpoint."

^^No sh*t.

I'm torn as to whether to see The Hobbit in 48fps or not. I want to enjoy the film on its own merits, not be distracted by this "new" look, as some reviewers have mentioned.

What to do, what to do...

f*ck it. I'll just skip it altogether and watch a porno with little people. Problem solved.

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/entertainment/2012/12/hobbit-headaches-reports-new-film-sickens-fans/

Director Peter Jackson’s much-anticipated film “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” has reportedly made some moviegoers sick.

The film is shot using high-speed 3D technology, and the film’s high frame rate – 48 frames per second, as opposed to the normal 24 frames per second — has caused dizziness, nausea and headaches among some fans who saw an early screening of the movie in New Zealand over the weekend, the New Zealand Herald newspaper reported on Monday.

An all-powerful Wizard vs. a mutant with the power of magnetism.

Given the abilities, it's a clear victory for Gandalf; he can be both defense and offense, and doesn't rely on an element for his abilities to even be noticed.

And by saying that stuff about the Holy Grail, well, it all depends on your personal and collectively philosophical ideas, you know.

@bane. That is actually a scene from fellowship of the ring. Its just repeated again in two towers to set up the alternate event with Gandalf not scene originally. Kind of like the clock tower scene in the back to the future trilogy. Its in all 3 but for different reasons
