"Chronicle" Star Dane DeHaan is Harry Osborn in "The Amazing Spider-Man" SequelSubmit Comment
Earlier today, director Marc Webb confirmed that "Chronicle" star Dane DeHaan has been cast as Harry Osborn in "The Amazing Spider-Man" sequel, beating Sam Claflin, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth and Boyd Holbrook, Alden Ehrenreich, and Brady Corbet for the role.

DeHaan joins Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx and Shailene Woodley (The Descendants). Foxx is playing the villainous Electro, while Woodley has been cast as Mary Jane Watson.

DeHaan appeared on such shows as "In Treatment" and "True Blood," before joining "Chronicle" as a teenager who slowly loses control over his recently-gained superpowers. He also had a small role in Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln."

this seems like a bad adaptation of any Yukio Mishima's work, you know.

f*ck it, I prefer Natsume Soseki and f*ck it even more, I enjoy the work by the suicidal Osamu Dazai, f*cking No Longer Human gives you the f*cking chills.

Well, he does have the creepy stare pat down...

I just wish they'd use the the discarded Goblin animatronic mask from Raimi's part 1. F*cking thing was the sh*t!!

As for the franchise...meh. Webb's version is more slick than heart which surprised me since this from the guy of 500 DAYS OF SUMMER. P. Parker relationship with G. Stacey was solid, but the relationship with his uncle/aunt & Connors was pretty choppy & at times unnecessary.

Also some plot devices were shoe horned or could been handled better. Things ike the spider that bites him, he brushes it off, then it looks like its lost, then next thing he has it in display case, or Flash hates his guts, then feels sorry for his uncle dying (why care? Why would Flash care about the uncle?), or the fights being mismatched...the Lizard (or the "Salamander") looks like he could tear him in shreds, but Spiderman webs his mouth? His arms? C'mon, kinda lame.

Pound for pound, Raimi's version, although kinda hokey at times, has a more solid, smooth, & cohesive narrative, you care for the characters & the he doesn't skimp on the action (did Webb really have to put a bridge battle as well?). Raimi's version of the love triangle was great, sh*t Webb could thrive on, but without "the third wheel", Webb has to dig up drama with Parker's parents/ uncles (the issue with his parents was unecessary).

Overall, I don't expect much from this franchise. They could've kept the story going (even with different actors) where Raimi left off. They could have continued with the rogues gallery...they still need people like Kraven, Chameleon, Rhino, Black Cat, or sh*t even go with Carnage. This franchise will not cover much in just their trilogy.

THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN was a waste of money, waste of plot, and waste of a great opportunity to continue from "the Spiderman that Raimi built"...

helo, welcome to earth, according to the movie "contact" we have been broadcasting at the speed of light since galileo first discovered its speed, hence the color of earth has been known since its beginning...mark these words, the planet 'earth' has been undergoing strenuous research including major planitary transformations such as evolution, Why are we here?, Please do not dissociate us from your otherworldly presence due to the fact that we as a whole cannot comprehend the simpleness of random acts of evolution, please forgive our simple retarded ways, and excuse us for the movie Lawless, for not one single soul had anything to do with this so called "movie" because their souls have been delivered to what we rulers call the devil, except tom hardy, he may be spared, according to laws 420 and 4169, amen bless you, and by the way n*ggers are disease carriers, good heaven to you.

only just watched amazing spider-man yesterday

wow

talk about an average film...thank god i didnt pay for it...had its moments though...just not enough of them

this new harry osborn...looks like a f*cking "corky" f*ck this

im not sure they ever gonna make a decent film of these if they keep catering to teenies

make it for the generation who grew up with spidey...i remember reading the comics when i was younger imagining what it would be in real life....raimi missed it...this new one got closer but the just wasnt executed properly...the suit was poorly designed and constructed...the whole movie felt like a spidey version of superman returns

would love to see what a neill blomkamp(new blood) or a michael mann(old school) could do with it...just a thought....
