Thanks to USA Today, we have the first photos of Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore and Ben Barnes from the upcoming "Seventh Son" fantasy adventure, which is directed Sergei Bodrov and based on Joseph Delaney's "The Spook's Apprentice" novel. The new movie is set to hit theaters on October 18th, 2013.
Plot: Master John Gregory (Bridges) is a "Spook" who imprisoned the evil witch Mother Malkin (Moore) centuries ago. Gregory is getting older and the apprentices he keeps trying to recruit don't last very long, which becomes a serious problem for him when Malkin escapes and gathers her followers for one momentous attack.
A Spook's apprentice can only be the seventh son of a seventh son, and after Gregory's last one is killed, he finds new backup in Tom Ward (Barnes) to help him fend off their supernatural enemies.

This sounds exactly like that "The Seeker Rising" crap that came out a few years ago.
I also give no sh*ts about movies based on books, until a Maximum Ride, or Skulduggery Pleasant movie comes out. My nephew read these all the time, and after I picked up one, they turned out to be pretty good.

Never even heard of the book, but I wouldn't mind nice return to fantasy films from the 80s like Dragonslayer, Kull, Legend and Willow.
Bridges looks pretty cool and, at 52, Julianne Moore is still hot as f*ck. I'd boogie her every night.

Julianne Moore is so hawt! With her, you never know...she is pretty fearless in her roles & doesn't give a f*ck of showing some skin like in BOOGIE NIGHTS or THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR. And all this with real talent...
There aren't very many of her gutsy kind...the only other one that comes to mind is Kate Winslet.

I have always hated fantasy films.
Not smart enough to be science fiction, not believable enough to be drama, not tight enough to be action.
It's an entire genre constructed so people can wear skimpy, goofy clothing and work their swords incredulously.
It's also, historically, a dumping crowd for failed special effects.
