Actor Jason Flemyng recently revealed that Matthew Vaughn is in talks to direct "Star Wars: Episode 7." But Deadline has now learned that Jon Favreau (Iron Man) and David Fincher (Fight Club, The Social Network) are also being considered.
Favreau has spoken very highly of the franchises and the difficulties he believes a director will have with the seventh installment. And unlikely other helmers, he never denied wanting to take the job. In fact, Deadline says that he is actively pursuing it. Meanwhile, Disney sees many benefits in bringing on Fincher, who was actually an assistant camera man on "Return of the Jedi."
Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3) is currently writing the script for "Episode 7," which will hit theaters during the summer of 2015.
