Starz Planning "Spartacus" Spin-Off Centered on Julius CaesarSubmit Comment
Starz is ending the "Spartacus" TV series after its upcoming third season, called "Spartacus: War of the Damned." But it turns out that the network isn't ready to say good-bye to the successful franchise.

Deadline has learned that Starz is planning a "Spartacus" spin-off TV series that will center on Roman leader Gaius Julius Caesar, who is being introduced during the last "Spartacus" season. The first time we'll see the character, played by Australian actor Todd Lasance (pictured), he'll be young and has yet to begin his journey toward ruling the Roman empire.

The spin-off is created by "Spartacus" producer Robert Tapert and creator/producer Steven DeKnight. "Spartacus: War of the Damned" is set to premiere on January 25th, 2013.

Hopefully this new version will have less boy-f*cking.

It would be a hell of a more interesting if it were re-told as a space opera instead.

And the story of Nero or Caligula would be a HELL of a lot more entertaining.

And unlike when 24 would reveal the mole inside CTU, no one will be surprised when Cassius and Brutus betray their leader.

This may be Season 3 coming up but there have been technically 3 seasons already if you count Gods of the Arena. That was actually my favorite season. Its about the only prequel I've ever liked.

I actually Red Boxed Prometheus the other day just to give it one more try. Worst $1 I've ever spent!
