"Star Trek Into Darkness" Unveils Plot SynopsisSubmit Comment
Paramount Pictures has unveiled the official plot synopsis for JJ Abrams' upcoming "Star Trek" sequel, which is called "Star Trek Into Darkness" and is set to hit theaters on May 17th, 2013.

Plot: When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror, from within their own organization, has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.

With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Not crazy about the title, but otherwise I think this sounds pretty solid. Definitely looking forward to it.

Half of the phrases from this synopsis sound like song names by some german death metal band:

- Unstoppable force

- Terror, from within

- State of crisis

- Manhunt to a war-zone

- One man weapon of mass destruction

- Game of life and death

- Torn apart

- Sacrifices must be made

Remember when Star Trek used to be about science and discovery? Or even sociopolitical themes?

Apparently, Abrams doesn't. More explosions and hyperkenetic action is his game. f*ck this movie.

f*ck YEAH, what Cannon said! He wins the motherf*cking thread!

""detonated the fleet and everything it stands for"...what does that even mean? was this translated from another language?"

Second place runner-up.

Damn, I was too late, like Kirk in this new bullsh*t movie. But at least I didn't "detonate the fleet". BTW, "all your base belong to us".

"Epic Chess game, I've seen Knight Moves and it was sh*t."

Yes, but the song is good.
