Zack Snyder Believes Henry Cavill Must Play Superman in "Justice League of America"Posted: November 25th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Warner Bros recently announced that it will begin filming the "Justice League of America" movie next year for a Summer 2015 release. But the studio has yet to confirm whether Henry Cavill (Man of Steel), Christian Bale (The Dark Knight) and Ryan Reynolds (Green Lantern) will reprise their roles.
Now, during an interview with NY Post, director Zack Snyder hinted that Warner Bros asked him to make "Man of Steel" a part of the bigger "Justice League" universe. "I can't really say anything, because that's a big spoiler," he said. "[But] I will say, yeah, they trust me to keep them on course."
When asked if Cavill will return to play Superman in "Justice League," Snyder replied: "I don't know how 'Justice League' is going to be handled. But 'Man of Steel' exists, and Superman is in it. I don't know how you'd move forward without acknowledging that."
In other words, Snyder believes that "Justice League" would have to build on the story in "Man of Steel," which means that Cavill would need to be brought back. The actor has a three-picture deal with the studio. So he's available if Warner Bros needs him.

Or in more "other words", WorstPreviews puts words into other people's mouths to make up news.
(hint: Snyder didn't say sh*t about Cavill playing Superman in Justice League)

Hopefully they do something.... anything.... to tie this into Justice League or the greater DC universe in general. I think a big part of the success Marvel has had is the fact that they have been able to tie most of their movies together into one universe, yet still have the big names stand on their own in their own movies.
DC seems to be rushing to get Justice League out to counter Marvel, and since the Batman films are done for now, Man of Steel will be their only chance between now and the release of JL to get some groundwork in.
I mean, there has to be something. The Justice League brings together multiple heroes, all with their own backstories and histories (for the two of you who didn't know). I fear its going to feel too thrown together when it comes out since there's been little (read: no) groundwork laid.
So hopefully Man of Steel can begin that, even if its just a few references, a small scene, after credits, something.

I didn't give a sh*t about marvel but they did it properly and made the necessary tie ins to make each movie part of a universe. When the avengers came out , the building blocks had been set and it was an amazing ensemble comic book movie.
Wtf has dc done got????
A batman trilogy that has to be respected for Nollans input and bales characterisation

Wtf has dc done got????
A batman trilogy that has to be respected for Nollans input and bales portrayal and therefore left alone for at least a couple of years.
Green lantern which is totally different to the dark knight and has no connection to the the " universe" that is not only different to the avengers but what a lot of comic book fans want to see built on.
Wonder Woman = no movie
The flash= no movie of a dude who usan bolt could do as much as.
And a head quarters that would take multiple end credits scenes to make viable
Verdict= don't touch yet or else you will be marvels bitch for the next 20 years.

DC would be infinitely more successful if they did a World's Finest (Superman and Batman) or Trinity (Supes, Bats, and Wonder Woman) movie in 2015, then put in either Green Lantern 2 or a Wonder Woman film in 2017, and finally, a Justice League movie in 2019.
Justice League simply has two many characters witha deep mythos to just throw together in one movie, expecting all potential moviegoers to have seen the 2003 Cartoon.
A World's Finest movie could possibly do as well as Avengers, since its Batman and Superman, two of the world's most famous superheroes, and with only two main characters, it allows for much more character development and partner dynamics, then a film consisting of 6-7 Characters, 3 of which have godlike-powers, and one who is a stone's throw from being a goddess.
