"Skyfall" Takes First Place at Box Office, Crosses $500 Million MarkSubmit Comment
The new James Bond movie "Skyfall" easily took first place at the domestic box office, grossing $88 million, which was enough to push the film over the $500 million mark ($519 million) globally. "Skyfall" now has the best opening in the Bond franchise and is on its way to surpass "Casino Royale" ($594 million) as the highest-grossing Bond film.

Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" opened in eleven cities, grossing $900,000, which is $81,818 per theater. That's similar to the performances of "Black Swan" ($80,212) and "The King's Speech"($88,863). "Lincoln," which cost $50 million to make and has a 91% fresh rating, will get a wide release next weekend (November 16th).

Meanwhile, "Wreck-It Ralph" took second place with $33 million, bringing its worldwide total to $120 million. "Flight" landed in third place with $15 million, for a new total of $48 million.

The only wide release this weekend, of course it's gonna take the #1 spot.

The villain was classic. First great villain in a Bond movie in a long time

Great stuff! And well deserved.

About Lincoln, I think this film will be more seen by high schools students than a general audience. More educational than entertaining. From what I've seen, it seems quite boring as it focus on only one subject: the end of slavery.

I haven't seen it... yet. But from all reviews (mostly from those on here I've come to trust)... it's a better than average Bond flick. But I think BC hit the nail on the head (I'm biased... I had the same thought), there's not a whole lot competing with this movie out there right now... is there? So Bond has swept the table. I'm glad for whatever reason. I'd like to see MGM get the ball rolling and more Bonds more often.

Awesome. Much needed cash for MGM's Red Dawn 2: The Latvian Threat.
