Frank Grillo Will Return as Crossbones in "The Avengers" Sequel?

Frank Grillo Will Return as Crossbones in The Avengers Sequel?Submit Comment
About a week ago, radio host Matthew Aaron revealed that Frank Grillo (The Grey) would play the villainous Crossbones in the upcoming "Captain America" sequel, called "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." Then a few day ago, the story was confirmed.

Now, during a recent episode of Aaron's show, the host called Grillo and asked if he'll appear as Crossbones in more than one Marvel film. The actor said "yes." After the interview, Aaron revealed that the same source who knew about Grillo's involvement a week ago is now saying that the actor signed a contract for a total of three films. The first will be "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." The next will be "The Avengers 2." And then finally, he'll play Crossbones in "Captain America 3."

We already know that Thanos will be the main villain in "The Avengers" sequel, so it's not clear how Crossbones fits in. But it's possible that the third "Captain America" film will have a storyline from "The Death of Captain America," in which Crossbones played a part in Steve Rogers' assassination.

This article makes no sense. How do you go from Grillo signing on for three Captain America films to him starring in The Avengers 2?

Whatever.

Frank grillo must've been feeling he's on cloud 9 right now.

The problem with telling people how many films the villain will be in is that now we know he doesn't die. News like this should be a "SPOILER ALERT"

I agree, Phoenix Fire.

@minkowski:
"This article makes no sense. How do you go from Grillo signing on for three Captain America films to him starring in The Avengers 2?"

It says "three films" and not "three Captain America films". Makes perfect sense.

This sh*t is stupid. Look at that picture up there, he looks just like Bane

Actually, it was edited, Janus, before you posted, to include the actual films.

Before, the article, which I read about 7am central time this morning, didn't list Avengers 2 specifically, and instead Alex 'surmised' or assumed it would be Avengers 2, but in the first edit, that info wasn't specifically listed.

Thanks for playing, though, even if you are a little late to the game...

Not necessarily, at all. This is Marvel/Disney's MO for their actors contracts. They sign them to a bunch of movies, but it doesn't mean they're really going to be in that many movies. Crossbones could still easily die in his first appearance. For once, WP hasn't spoiled anything.
