Ryan Gosling Drops Out of "Logan's Run" Remake

Posted: October 25th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Ryan Gosling Drops Out of "LoganSubmit Comment
About two years ago, it was reported that Ryan Gosling would star in the upcoming "Logan's Run" remake, which would be directed by his "Drive" helmer Nicolas Winding Refn, who has confirmed the news several times.

Variety has now confirmed that Gosling has dropped out of the project. No word if Refn is still on board, but that's definitely not good news for a movie that hasn't been able to enter production for almost a decade.

"Logan's Run" is based on the 1967 novel by William F. Nolan that was adapted into the 1976 film starring Michael York. The story takes place in the future where people are executed upon reaching a certain age and those that seek to avoid their fate are deemed "Runners."

gosling drop out of this cause he is producing a film adaptation of the Jerry Cornelius character, from the series of novels and short stories written by Michael Moorc*ck.

Meh. No one was sitting around waiting for this sh*t to get made except women who think Gosling is a hunk.

I think this is actually one of the few movies that deserves a good f*ckin remake

I watched Logan's Run few months ago and God, how boring it was. And very long too. Some scenes like in the library were just endless for no reasons.

Bottom line, this is a good news.

Logans Run has already been remade many times before. Minority Report, Repo Men, and Equilibrium are a few examples. Any movie about a futuristic cop that sees the light when his number is up and has to fight back against the system that spawned him is a remake of LR. In fact any movie about a future based society where people are told when they have to die or how they should feel under false pretenses as a means of control is another spawn of LR. The Island and the Matrix come to mind. This film has been so inspirational in Hwood that it needs no remake.

Gattaca, The Running Man, and Demolition Man (to a lesser extent) qualify too.

Surrogates too. I bet if you sat back and thought about it you could come up with at least 10 more.

Fahrenheit 451 predates Logan's Run by fourteen years, Sac...

Fahrenheit 451 is a total classic, huge influence on equilibrium.
