James Cameron Plans to Direct "The Informationist" After "Avatar 3"

James Cameron Plans to Direct "The Informationist" After "Avatar 3"Submit Comment
Not too long ago, James Cameron revealed that he will no longer produce other people's movies and will instead stick to directing "Avatar" films. Apparently that has changed, because his Lightstorm Entertainment production company has now acquired the rights to Taylor Stevens' "The Informationist" book, which Cameron plans to direct for 20th Century Fox. The plan is to begin shooting after Cameron completes the next two "Avatar" films.

The story centers on Vanessa Munroe, an information specialist, who is hired by a Texas oil billionaire to find his daughter who vanished in Africa four years ago. Munroe finds herself back in the lands of her childhood. Betrayed, cut off from civilization, and left for dead, she must come face-to-face with the past that she's tried for so long to forget.

"Vanessa Munroe is an intriguing and compelling heroine with an agile mind and a thirst for adventure," said Cameron. "Equally fascinating for me is her emotional life and her unexpected love story. I'm looking forward to bringing Vanessa and her world to the big screen." Producer Jon Landau added that the character is "a mix of Lisbeth Salander and Jason Bourne."

A second Vanessa Munroe novel, called "The Innocent," was published earlier this year.

Lisbeth Salander is nothing like the movies tried so hard to show so I'm guessing Mr. Landau doesn't read anything unless the sentence begins with "$".

It was all b*llsh*t!! He's being jerking everyone around with his past news of him retiring, hence making him a undisputed, FDA approved, 100%, unadulterated C*CKSUCKER!!...

The defense rests your honor...

Remember that time when Cameron said he was making Spider-Man...20 years ago?

Yeah..its 2012 and he's still talking about sh*t he's never going to actually direct.

Hell, I'll gladly take this over Avatar sequels. Something more modern age but still high-tech, but also a survivalist action adventure. And hopefully R-rated. It could be like a more serious version of True Lies.

There's still a good director somewhere inside James Cameron, and this could be the kind of film that could bring him back to his edgier self.

I'm one of the few (on here) that likes this guy, but Jesus, am I EVER sick and tired of reading headlines of what he's planning to do YEARS from now.

Headline: Ranger will be taking a sh*t tomorrow. And not giving one for ANY MORE Cameron 'plans.'

""Vanessa Munroe is an intriguing and compelling heroine with an agile mind and a thirst for adventure,"

I want to stuff your stupid ass with something very agile alright.

This guy is getting on my nerves with all his ridiculous statements and projects! The Battle of Angels was a terrific idea and here's to what he's reduced to: cretin!

I don't think Cameron will ever make 'battle angel'...Avatar 2 and 3 will make sh*t load of money and by then he will be too old and fat like george lucas.

For crap's sake, then just give up the rights to Battle Angel and go jump off a bridge.
