Clark Gregg to Return as Agent Coulson in "SHIELD" TV SeriesSubmit Comment
During the New York Comic-Con, Marvel Television participated in a panel where the head of the TV department Jeph Loeb announced that Clark Gregg will reprise his role as Agent Phil Coulson in the upcoming "SHIELD" TV series.

Coulson made a surprise appearance at the panel to talk about his role as Principal Coulson on "Ultimate Spider-Man." He then presented a video from Joss Whedon (The Avengers) and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who confirmed Coulson's role in the pilot episode of "SHIELD," which Whedon will co-write and direct.

Coulson previously played the character in "Iron Man," "Iron Man 2," "Thor" and "The Avengers," in addition to two "The Avengers" short films.

I'd be surprised if this show lasted more than one season. It'll probably get huge premiere ratings, then fall off quickly. If it costs a sh*tload per episode, and it only has decent rating numbers, ABC will probably yank it

Seriously? this stupid TV show thing is really happening? I can't forgive Gregg for f*cking up Choke. Stupid TV show aside, count me out for that reason alone.

I just don't feel sorry for a character I didn't give a sh*t about to begin with and who was only used to any value by killing him off.

I'm sure you'll be sorely missed in the Nielsen ratings, which of course take into account viewers in Afghanistan...

Hopefully this is set before the films, because if Coulson survives that's messed up in a way that no one could have survived that stab to the sternum. Anyways whatever he's the best character from the movies so if the TV series is actually good that'll be cool.

@Rambo

I Agree. Clark Gregg is so likable. He's the SHIELD agent.

Hopefully, this is set after the Avengers and Coulson doesn't you know, DIE!

If it is set before the Avengers, pretty sure my heart will just break again knowing he will die...:(

So is the show going to be SHIELD against HYDRA?

I don't know about suckin the guys d*ck (he wasn't the BEST character) but I liked him. He should stay dead though. And is Samuel L Jackson gonna be in this? How do you do a SHIELD movie without Nick Fury?
