David Fincher (The Social Network, Fight Club) has been looking to make his animated "Goon" movie for many years. At one point, he put together a teaser trailer that was meant to raise money for the project. Apparently that didn't happen, which is why Fincher now taking to his fans. The director put up "The Goon" on Kickstarter and is asking for $400,000 to finish a story reel. Fincher won't actually direct the film, he'll instead executive produce. But in exchange for your money, he'll send out original "The Goon" artwork and private screenings of the finished story reel with Fincher in attendance. Check out Fincher pitch video below. "The Goon" follows the adventures of a muscle-bound brawler who claims to be the primary enforcer for a feared mobster. In related news, James Cameron says he needs your help in funding Avatar 2 and if you donate now, you'll receive a t-shirt that says "I Saw Smurfs in Space and All I Got Was this Stupid T-shirt".

Sorry Fincher...survival of the fittest.
If you couldn't round up the funds when there's so much crap being made/ funded nowadays...maybe the material wasn't that good to start off with.
Talk to Del Toro, he'll fund anything high profile directors

This is the new Hollywood model.
You pay to have it made, you pay to see it in theaters, and you pay to own the DVD/Blu-ray.
Then they sue the sh*t out of you when you download it to watch on your tablet.
