Marvel Unveils "Thor: The Dark World" Plot SynopsisSubmit Comment
Marvel has unveiled the official plot synopsis for the upcoming "Thor" sequel, called "Thor: The Dark World," which is directed by Alan Taylor ("Game of Thrones") and is set to hit theaters on November 8th, 2013.

Plot: "Thor: The Dark World" continues the big-screen adventures of Thor as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel's "Thor" and "Marvel's The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos... but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

The new film stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins.

I wonder if this film will have nice visuals like Game of Thrones.

Sounds like sh*t! I just have a feeling this movie will suck although I have to admit, Chris Hemsworth is a cool Thor.

Well if anyone can direct some medieval bullsh*t, it's the guuy who directs game of Thrones, not like he's good at directing anything else.

I love Natalie Portman and this was the only time I saw a movie and thought the entire movie was worse because she had a part. Her character was a useless waste of space. Thor was the worst Marvel movie by a wide margin (still good enough but the worst) and a large part of it was her character.

I don't see why they have to shove her back into this movie. Let her go off and make something worth while and can benefit from her being in it.

With all of the nine worlds of Asgardian cosmology being involved this second movie actually sounds more interesting than the first. In Malkeith, the dark elves and Kurse/Algrim the Strong there are also some interesting characters.
