Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro Confirmed for "Grudge Match" Boxing Movie

Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro Confirmed for "Grudge Match" Boxing MovieSubmit Comment
Two years ago, we heard that Sylvester Stallone (Rocky) and Robert De Niro (Raging Bull) were looking to re-team for "Grudge Match," a boxing movie which had Mark Steven Johnson (Ghost Rider) on board to direct.

Now comes word that Warner Bros has greenlit the film, which revolves around retired boxers Billy "The Kid" McGuigan and Henry "Razor" Sharp, lifelong bitter rivals wo are coaxed out of retirement and into the ring for one final grudge match - 50 years after their last title fight.

Kevin Hart has been cast as a fight promoter, who gets the boxers out of retirement. And Johnson is no longer directing. The studio has replaced him with Peter Segal (Get Smart, Anger Management) to helm from a script by "Entourage" creator Doug Ellin.

So, De Niro will be fighting Stallone in a boxing movie? As in Raging Bull 34 years later? De Niro is definitely getting senile and desperate for some quick cash. somebody is bleeding him financially. I don't think the great De Niro we once knew will ever be back.

And Kevin Hart? The funny black guy? Lol!

Rocky vs Raging Bull? Interesting, but not interested. Not at their present ages. 20 years ago, maybe, but definitely not now. Unless they did some kind of crazy CG version where it's them in their 30's.

Cop Land was freakin Great and this could be ok IMO

Just hope they have something more than just the Rocky V Raging Bull novelty factor going on in the script.

i think the plan was for them to be 'too old'
It does say 50years after their last fight

Everybody here realizes this is meant to be a comedy and in no way to be taken seriously right?

Whatever rocks their wheelchairs. De Niro has to get in shape. Last time it happened 23 years ago.

Still, someone needs to remind him he once was considered the greatest actor of his generation, now he's like a f*cking circus freak - buffooning for a paycheck with 50 cent. Stil can't forget this atrocity...

They should work Deniros' black girl addiction into the script.

Gangsta Gangster
starring: Al Pacino,Wesley Snipes and Sasha Baron Cohen

Two aging rival mobsters unite to save the italian mobsters'daughter from the new Persian mob in time for her wedding to Snipes' son

Is that crappy enough?

Well at least, it's better having DeNiro being in a movie with 50 Cent.

I mean Rigtheous Kill and Freelancers.

50 Cent is dragging everyone down with him:

Setup with Bruce Willis

Freelancers (or Crossfire) with DeNiro and Forset Whitaker

The Frozen Ground with Nicolas Cage

The Tomb with Stallone and Arine (which I hope turns out to be great) where 50 Cent plays a hacker.

Seriously, 50 Cent as a hacker?

The worst idea since Vanilla Ice decided to become a actor.

This video proves it:

Yea this has to be a comedy.
Porn- that's probably more a original idea than anything Hollywood has come up with for years.

I think Peter Segal as the director was the give away that this was a going to be a comedy.

And good comedy still needs a strong script.

Im fed up of seeing Stallone's saggy steroid arms and tits flapping about on my screen. I'm fed up of Deniro selling out and accepting every film before he's even read the script.

You're right .....

Sounds way Over The Top and it will be a Godsend if the film is any good, But we all know The Score De Niro will star in any old sh*t and should be Driven back to his Taxi Driver job.
