Netflix has been developing its own original programming to make available through its streaming video service. At the center of this strategy is new series, called "House of Cards," which is produced by David Fincher, who also directed the first two episodes.

Today, we have a poster for "House of Cards," which is written by Beau Willimon (The Ides of March), and in addition to Fincher, is directed by James Foley (Glengarry Glen Ross), Joel Schumacher (Falling Down), and Carl Franklin (Devil in a Blue Dress). Check out the poster below.

"House of Cards" chronicles the ruthless politician Francis Underwood (Kevin Spacey), the majority whip of the House of Representatives, and his wife, Claire (Robin Wright), as they pursue power and all the good things that come with it in Washington. The first thirteen episodes will all become available on Netflix on February 1st, 2013.

Starring Kevin Spacey & piloted by David Fincher? Good credit goes far. I'll at least give season 1 a shot.

Basically a rip off the British 1990 television serial which demonized the Conservative Party via Chief Whip, Francis Urquhart.

Looks like a f*cking retread of that sh*t even down the 'villain's' name.

Maybe next time, *ssholes, change up your mythology and make a Democrat, instead of a Republican, an oilman or a business man, the bad guy. It does happen you know.

"House of Cards will be remade into an original series in the United States."

Original must mean something other than what the dictionary says, then.

"new; fresh; inventive; novel"
