Matt Reeves to Direct "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" SequelPosted: October 1st, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Rupert Wyatt, who directed "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," recently said that he won't be directing the sequel, called "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," because he feels that things will need to be rushed in order to make the May 23rd, 2014 release date.
20th Century Fox immediately put together a list of helmers who could replace Wyatt. The list included J. Blakeson (The Disappearance of Alice Creed), Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later), Matt Reeves (Let Me In), Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter), Gullermo Del Toro, Juan Antonio Bayona (The Impossible), and Rian Johnson (Looper).
Now comes word that Reeves has been officially hired.

I would have much rather preferred for Wyatt and I hope that he'll return to helm it, but I'll see what Reeves can do.

I just hope he doesn't take 2 hours just to get to the point in this film. Man was "Let Me In" boring. I'm still having nightmares.

*sigh*
The director this, the dorector that. You people have this monolithic approach to filmmaking the way you have a monolithic approach to politics.
The President isn't responsible for every political success and failure, just as the director isn't solely reponsible for a film's quality.
Who's writing this piece of sh*t, then? That's what's really important, as Rise succeeded on the strength of it's story and characters primarily, with a brisk pacing providing assist.
Whine whine whine. And you don't even know if you're drinking Cali Merlot or French champagne.
f*cking dullards.
