Sylvester Stallone May Finally Direct "Hunter" Sci-Fi Film

Sylvester Stallone May Finally Direct "Hunter" Sci-Fi FilmSubmit Comment
Many years ago, Sylvester Stallone acquired the rights to James Byron Huggins' "Hunter" novel with plans of turning the film into "Rambo 5," making the first "Rambo" film with Sci-fi elements. The project eventually fell apart, but now comes word that Stallone is in talks with Lionsgate to writer and direct "Hunter" as a stand-alone film.

Novel plot: A beast is loose somewhere north of the Arctic Circle. It has already decimated a secret research facility and annihilated a squad of elite military guards. And the raging creature is headed south toward civilization, ready to wreak bloody devastation.

It is a job Hunter cannot turn down, but he soon discovers that his prey is terror incarnate, a half-human abomination created by a renegade agency through a series of outlawed genetic experiments. It has man's cunning, a predator's savageness, and a prehistoric power that has transcended the ages. And even if Hunter survives its unrelenting hunger for human blood, he'll still have to confront the grim reality that it may have grown immortal.

i'm glad he's directing, but hopefully, he'll leave the acting to a much younger action man, like..Daniel Craig, Gerard Butler, Chris Hemsworth...notice i haven't mentioned any american actor.. hmm..how about Tom Cruise..?? Stallone-Cruise combo..that should be interesting. or..The Rock. just like Arnold goin up against Predator..how bout pitting the Rock against this new monstrosity..??

This sounds awesome to me for some reason. He should cast Chris Hemsworth or The Rock

I can't get over how rad that picture is. Yeah, sure, its just a cheap photo-shop, but the very idea...

The hell with it. Just have Rambo fight this f*cker as originally planned.

Rambo meets Predator? That's awesome.

More like The Thing meets Predator meets Rambo :P Sounds like an idea with a bit of an 80's charm to it though, and therefore, I shall like to see it.

Hunter, huh? Let me give you a "spoiler" of with the dialogue...

(in Stallone's thug drawl) "Hey monster...I'm gonna take you to. THA. NEXT. LEVEL!!"

Sounds like Godzilla at first, and then like pretty much everyone else said, Predator with Sly instead of Arnie.

Never got why Sly thought he'd make a sci-fi Rambo anyway.

How about Demolition Man 2 instead?

This could actually be cool. I just miss the old Stallone, you know the guy who once wrote classics like ROCKY and FIRST BLOOD. he needs to go back to that type of actor/writer status,I know he can do it.his newer films are cool too,I just miss the Stallone who wrote about chacracters and their emotions, guilt and facing their ineer demons.
