New "RoboCop" Set Photos Show Joel Kinnaman, Abbie Cornish, and Futuristic VehiclesSubmit Comment
We recently showed you the first photos from the Toronto set of the upcoming "RoboCop" remake, showing shots of Joel Kinnaman in his RoboCop suit. And today, we have new photos from the set, giving us a look at Abbie Cornish and a bunch of futuristic police vehicles. Check everything out below.

Plot: The year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex's life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

The new movie is directed by Jose Padilha (Elite Squad) and co-stars Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Jackie Earle Haley, and Jay Baruchel. It's set to hit theaters on August 9th, 2013.

Joel Kinnaman was one of the only good things about the Killing. He's on of the only reasons I'm interested in seeing how this movie turns out.

Second time around and still can't film this in Detroit.

The cop cars and motorcycles are a little bit cooler than what weve seen from the suit, partly because futuristic but still reminiscent of the corporate-metro look from the original films. Im liking everything about this movie (particularly the supporting cast) except for the questionable director and especially that damn generic looking suit.

Oh, and I had a beer with Abbie Cornish today, on set, in her trailer. Then we had sex in the shower. I just wanted to share that with the rest of WP.

I think I saw Ranger peeking in through the window though. Weird.

@Cannon - you're close. I was the 'soap dispenser' in that shower.

As for this... God, I hope the bikes don't fly!

That is the newer model Ford Taurus they're using.

Now give me some pics of the 6000 SUX.

Apparently, Not only has Hollywood run out of ideas for new movies but they've also run out of vehicle costume designers.

Why is he wearing that weird coat.
Maybe he's trying to cut weight for the big fight.

Hay I remember the original Robocop the "futuristic" cars were all old ass Ford Taurus'
Ranger writes:

Yes, but a person would have to upgrade to the 6000SUX to get a stock Blaupunkt.

Cool moment (one of the very few) in the sequel when the baddies shoot-up his sh*t-box (see: Ford Taurus above) cop car, it rolls a dozen times, lands upright, and Robo mini-guns a hole through the roof. Yeah... that was about the only good moment in that sequel. Oh, and I loved it as he just stood there like a POS Robo running on Windows Vista while the bad guys set him on fire. Oh... of when he strapped on his jet pack and the cables holding him up were visible. All high-end stuff.

I'd like to be in a movie like this for no other reason than to run the sh*t out of some cars without worrying about any repair bills.

Robocop in a black poncho and a black Nintendo Power Glove.

Modern cars with wheel covers and some sh*t o0ver the back windows.

Yep. It's 'the future' alright.

MGM must have given this film a record-setting minimal budget. Looks TERRIBLE.
OneTime writes:

this looks so cheap and gay...lets hope they add to the suit or something.
