First Look: Elijah Wood in "Grand Piano," Described as "Speed" at a PianoSubmit Comment
Back in May, we learned that Elijah Wood signed on to star in "Grand Piano," an indie thriller described as "Speed" at a piano. And today, we have the first photo of Wood in the movie. Check it out below.

The story concerns a once-great concert pianist (Wood) who suffers from stage fright and comes back to perform after a five-year hiatus. Just when he's about to play the first bar, he notices somebody has written a threatening note on his music sheet. He's now forced to play his best concert ever to save his life as well as his wife's.

The new movie is directed by Eugenio Mira from a script by Damien Chazelle. It's produced by Rodrigo Cortes, the director of Ryan Reynolds' "Buried" thriller.

Nice try and totally believeable, except for the part about Elijah Wood having a wife.

When it said "Speed at a piano," I was hoping the idea was that if he stopped playing he would blow up.

"Pop quiz, hotshot, if the piano music stops, your wife die. What do you do..what do you do?"
What a Stupid concept.

I bet his wife is the one who left the note in the end, to "inspire" him to play his best.

"...he notices somebody has written a threatening note on his music sheet."

I'd crack the f*ck up if Keifer Sutherland was the mastermind behind this plot.

I thought it would be grand piano speeding through the city looney tunes-style with Elijah Wood playing Moonlight Sonata and sh*t blowing up around him. Ray Charles ghost as a sidekick.

I miss Dennis Hopper...

Elija Wood is fast becoming the Mark Hamill of our time. Only not as cool.

Had a crush on him in the 90's. Now that he still looks the same, freaks me out.

@Pornfly

Agreed. The scene where Lil' Man is standing in the bathroom with an electric shaver and a cigar was a dead give away...f*cking hacks!!

I bet even WHITE CHICKS was a retread of "Bosom Buddies"...

As for SCARY MOVIES, they just borrowed the premise or scenes from different horror/ terror movies, strung them all together & just added their comedy bits...pretty mediocre or just plain lazy in some places...see a pattern?

"Speed on a piano"? Doubt it.

Now "blow" on the piano? That, I believe...
