James Cameron Says "Avatar 2" Won't End Like "The Matrix 2"

Posted: September 11th, 2012 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
James Cameron Says "Avatar 2" WonSubmit Comment
While promoting the DVD/Blu-ray release of "Titanic 3D," James Cameron was asked for an update on the next two "Avatar" sequels that he's currently writing and planning to shoot back-to-back. Pre-production is set to begin in January.

"It's a little bit of a daunting writing task because it's two scripts and they've both gotta be done at the same time," he explained. "I'm writing it as separate stories that have an overall arc inclusive of the first film. I don't want to suffer from the 'Matrix 2' problem, where it just ends, like, what the hell? It's gotta end. There's gotta be a sense of conclusion, but also a sense that the journey will continue, and that's a fine line."

He went on to explain that "Avatar 2" and "Avatar 3" will focus more on the oceans of Pandora. "We're making up an ocean ecosystem for Pandora. That's gonna have less to do with the deep exploration that I've done than it has to do with my concerns about conservation of Earth's oceans. These are the things that concern me."

Cameron added that the film "won't take place completely in or under the water. That's just part of the environment of Pandora that we're going to see."

We get it The Martix Reloaded was bad. No need to compare the films because Avatar's script was very outdated itself and not carefully looked over before being made. Only reason why people talk about Avatar is for it's visual effects let's not forget.

That's kind of the way I felt about how you ended "The Abyss", Jim. I was like, "What the hell?"

That's more like it.

Why cant he make it like the Star Wars Saga, Yes they tell an overall story but not back to back

I don't consider the second Matrix film to be particularly bad. Sure, it's more action than anything else, it doesn't contain nearly as much to chew on as the first film, and the first half an hour is pretty hit-and-miss, but it's overall not a bad film.

The Matrix Revolutions is another story...

I'm excited.

Cameron can deliver on the entertainment factor, and hopefully now Avatar can have some originality breathed into it.

The way these Avatar stories keep coming out, Avatar just won't end full stop !!

What I like most of Cameronīs stories, is that he is always worry about the environment of how is been develop on the big screen. Thatīs one of the main reasons his movies hit the jack pot all the time.....

to give credit where it is due
he was very brave
to put an anti american message
in the middle of AVATAR

remember when all the soldiers
are lock and load
sam worthington says
through gritted teeth

''this is how it's done
when people are sittin on sh*t you want
you make em your enemy
then you're justified in taking it''

as he says that the camera stays on
michelle rodriguez
that way the film keeps moving forward without looking like wothington
is making a speech to the audience

well done James Cameron :)

all you gotta do now
is be brave enough to say it out loud
like Clint Eastwood

James Cameron Says "Avatar 2" Won't End Like "The Matrix 2"

But he's probably okay with the story and scene cohesion being on the same level....And it's a hard sell to convince me that Worthington has greater range than Keanu as well, and that is f*cking saying something.
