"The Possession" Wins Worst Weekend Since 9/11

"The Possession" Wins Worst Weekend Since 9/11Submit Comment
The first weekend after Labor Day is usually a bad time for movies, but this year was exceptionally terrible with no film being able to gross $10 million. The results are the worst since immediately after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

"The Possession" stayed in first place with $9.5 million for a worldwide total of $38 million. The film cost just $14 million to make. "Lawless" took second with $6 million and "The Words," starring Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana," landed in third with $5 million.

Even though "The Words" grossed less than expected, the film cost only $6 million to make, which means that it will easily make back its budget. The movie has a 16% fresh rating.

The weekend's other wide release was the action film "In the Cold Light of the Day," starring Henry Cavill (Man of Steel). The movie completely bombed, landing in thirteenth place with $1.8 million. It cost roughly $25 million to make has a terrible 9% fresh rating.

Meanwhile, the anti-Obama documentary "2016: Obama's America" continues to perform well. It took tenth place after 9 weeks in theaters, grossing an additional $3.3 million for a new total of $26 million. It is now the second highest-grossing political documentary of all time, behind Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" ($119.2 million).

Has anyone seen Lawless yet? Im hoping it does well so John Hillcoat can keep making movies I usually like his films and Tom Hardy is pretty good usualy. However this film does have the shia la beef in it.

But that's just me lol.. I Loved hardy in the movie, he did a very good job, fav character too

Lawless was one of the better movies in theaters recently, wish it was getting more attention. Pearce is simply amazing in it but I thought LaBeouf actually did a good job for the movie.

of course they stayed away
from the cinema
immediately after the
9/11 ''terrorist'' attacks

why pay money to watch fiction in a cinema
when it was on the news for free ? ? ?

Yep. The world can always use more intellectually deficient retards spreading factually unsupported nonsense.

I mean, there's just never enough stupidity in the world, you know?

"The previously secret doc*ment was originally made public on 18 November 1997"

Because the American government always releases it's roadmap for terroristic conspiracies a few years before it actually implements them. LMAO.

Because there hadn't been genuine terror attacks YEARS before 9-11. Guess the government planned the 1993 WTC boming too, and the Cole and the tens of other otherwise Al Qaeda operations, too, huh? That's right, folks, Islamic terrorism doesn't exist, none of it, it's all the CIA and Mossad.

f*cking idiots. That's right, be quiet. You know it's true.

And people wonder why I'm one of the 'smarter' posters on here? That's like saying the guy behind the wheel is a genius because he drives the short bus.
