Jim Carrey Confirmed for "Kick-Ass" SequelSubmit Comment
Two weeks ago, we reported that Universal Pictures was in talks with Jim Carrey to play Colonel Stars in the upcoming "Kick-Ass" sequel. And now comes word directly from director Jeff Wadlow (Cry_Wolf) that Carrey is officially on board.

The confirmation comes via a tweet, in which Wadlow states: "6 days till we start shooting... and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f'n then." While he doesn't refer to Carrey by name, he mentions the actor's "Ace Ventura" line.

Colonel Stars (Carrey) is a military-type superhero who puts together a team of misfit superheroes, called Justice Forever, with the intent to fight evil. Most of the surviving cast returns for the sequel, which is set to hit theaters on June 28th, 2013.

So Jimmy Carry Confirmed, is not actually confirmation.
Could be Kyle McLaughlin, seeing as that is his catchphrase from Sex & The City...

Nice that Carrey is available with less than a weeks notice. Remember when he was popular?

Well, this should keep him out of depression for a few months. Another suicide avoided, but you could take his place Dark, you little f*ck.

Jim Carrey popular via 1994-95. At that time I was getting my first taste of p*ssy. Man that was almost 20 years ago.

Don't like the director choice, I wish they were able to bring back Matthew Vaughn.

Hey, Sergio is back.

Carrey is a legend. Hopefully he doesn't pull a Tony and finds his career resurrected - he's equally good in comedy and drama.
Zeroguy writes:

Who cares. The first movie was terrible and the same goes for Carrey's career in the last 8 years. He had one good film (Eternal Sunshine). Everything else has been utter sh*t. Also, has Carrey played a villain in anything other than Cable Guy?
Zeroguy writes:

Okay. I'm wrong.
First, He was more of an antagonist in Cable Guy.
Second, I forgot he was in that Unfortuante Events movie and (my nostalgic favorite) Batman Forever.
