Millennium Films has unveiled the official trailer for "The Iceman," which is based on the true story of Richard "The Ice Man" Kuklinski and stars Michael Shannon, Winona Ryder, James Franco, Chris Evans, David Schwimmer, and Ray Liotta. Check it out below.
The story revolves around Richard Kuklinski (Shannon), a notorious mob contract killer and loving family man. He earned his nick-name by freezing the bodies of his victims, disguising the time of death and throwing police off-track. He was a man who used his tendencies toward violence and detachment from consequence to create an idyllic family life. His family and neighbors believed he was an average businessman, having no idea about his deadly alternate life. Kuklinski killed over one hundred people during his life. He never felt remorse for anything he had done, except hurting his family.
The new movie is written and directed by Ariel Vromen. A release date has yet to be set.
This trailer is not very impressive, but the cast sure is. I really like Shannon. He impressed me in "Take Shelter". While that film was mediocre at best, I thought he gave a moving, understated performance as a man dealing with possible mental issues.
I was rooting for the movie & cast to see how bad or clise they got to the real guy to put shivers down the spine of movie goers...
But then I thought it really will pale in comparison the real HBO doc*mentary of the Iceman interview. Just him talking about the murders chills to the bone. I doubt the movie will catch half of the menace on screen.
